So the past few days the pokemon youtube channel started putting up videos starting with "Visit Kanto!" for every region in order of their game appearances each day. At the current rate of release the last one will be alola the day before 'pokemon day' which back in 2016 was when sun and moon were announced.
Could be a coincidence but that seems mighty suspicious.

What's even more suspicious is that among the five day Pokemon Day events at Pokemon NY, including face painting and visits with Pikachu and Eevee, there is a non-streamed Q&A with Treehouse employees. It's the one thing everyone is scratching their heads over. Originally Posted by dope_danny
