"Would you please let me join your p-p-party?
It's a continuous flow of text. You can create different channels so you have an idea as to what is possibly being discussed, but you're hopping in blind really. Discord lets you know how many messages you've missed since you checked a chat too. I forget the intervals but it's like 20, 50, 100, 200, 400+? Maybe someone else can chime in. It's not that intimidating lol, just download it and try it out.
It saves the chat. From the second you join a server and a channel, you can scroll through all of the messages ever sent after that. Example, you join a server and 30 days later you wanted to read something from 2 weeks ago, you can. There is a search function also so you can look through old conversations for specific phrases or words. If you're specifically inquiring about a common scenario like coming home from work or something and not understanding what people are talking about, yes you can scroll up and read previous messages to get a gist of the topic.
Discord is shitposting.
Discord has done a great job of filtering the shit out of this thread actually.
Kimi no Na wa - Finally watched this. Not sure what to there is to say besides that I liked it a lot. Obviously had a lot of expectations going in, and I can't say I was disappointed.
This Wonfes is going to kill my wallet, too many figs I'm throwing onto my wish list now.

Chat Zone was created beginning of 2013 (as I'm all too aware of, being a part of it all). I never heard of an IRC happening before i joined in '12, but I guess it could have happened. Though with a pace of 1-2 pages a week, I'd have been surprised. You sure you're not talking about the Steam group that was started a couple of years ago? That uses IRC-esque chat.
Also very important. Where can I find a 4k BD version of Kimi no Na wa. For science. Just bought a 4k monitor.
pretty sure there was an irc channel. there are stretches where the thread went though 10 pages in 1-2 days. there are gems like this too.
not sure what the difference is between these two:
1) https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%90%9B%E...s=your+name+4k
2) https://www.amazon.co.jp/Amazon-co-j...s=your+name+4k
comes with english subs. 4k torrent probably wouldn't be worth it
