Once every job is automated by AI and robots, would you live in a retro community?

Here's the scenario: It's 50-100 years in the future, artificial intelligence, AI is common place, so are robots. Just about every job except for extremely human oriented jobs like nursing and childcare are automated.

You have a 100% free time on you hands. You can play videogames all day long, take drugs, whatever, nobody cares. You don't need to show up for work in the morning because there is no work.

So retro communities startup. You can pretty much pick your year, 1950's, 1990's, 2000's, etc. When you live in these communities it's just like you were living in that time period, no AIs, primitive video games, etc. Everyone has a job, a real life human mechanic works on your manually driven car, a real life human plumber fixes your sink. A human does your taxes.

Of course you can always go on vacation to the real world outside of the community.

In the US the Amish live like it was 1880, horses, lots of manual labor. They've turned their back on the advance of technology, would you?

Nah, I want to keep with the times and see where it takes us. While the initial nostalgia for a bygone time might be fun, it would quickly become evident that the very nature of the community won't allow it to progress, and you'd get bored within a few years at most.

Hell no. If I didn't have to work a day in my life I would be a happy man.

Yeah, they've definitely learned technicalities out of their stuff.

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. No, no retro for me.

I am already old and I can look back across the decades. Life moves on, I'll keep trying to find challenges that keep up with the changes instead of trying to look back.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.

Is this because of Fallout? lol.

Honestly, I think money and corporations, culture, all the advancements we made, while cool, is the worst thing that happened to humanity. We've lost sight of the basics and everyone is suffering from stress and we're living in a pretty unfair society. I think a lot of us would like a break from that, but permanently living in the 1950's isn't the answer.

That alone makes it a clear choice for me. ^^

They would probably set up matrix style virtual realities where you can do this if you wanted.

Its quite possible we are all playing in one right now.
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

    No. I'm not a Luddite.

In 50 years I'll be old, but never too old to adapt. Something will always need doing.

Are these like legacy servers IRL?

Dunno, would not like to live in the past. I would take a look but probably not stay there

    I'd go forward, not backwards.

This particular era is incredibly annoying. We have all this great technology but space travel is still just out of reach. I want my Star Wars level civilization dammit!
