looking for shooter with story

I remember seeing a post about games that had a surprisingly good story that was unexpected.

there was a shooter on the list that dealt with being in some sandy place with skyscrapers that looked run down and I think it dealt with inner turmoil of the job.

any idea what it is cause I think I accidentally removed it from my steam wishlist?

Spec Ops: The Line is really worth playing. Definitely pick it up next time you can. Just be warned its not a very "happy" game, but it does tackle a lot of issues in the military shooter industry. Its more of a commentary on that than anything else. Really good though.
