I'm pretty sure it just finds groups of similar SR -- at most ranks this is probably a good thing, as Blizzard found that dedicated groups don't really play above their SR and win more vs similarly rated, but ungrouped teams, at least until the higher ranks. If you're at a higher rank this could definitely be an issue at first.

Given the failure Destiny 2 has been, my itch for and FPS has returned and since i have OW already (but stopped playing long ago due to a combo of being bad e competitive being basically the worst experience in my life - i don't care about rating, i just wanted to find people at my level to play with and not a bunch of crybabies that just screamed the whole time and played randomly quitting every single time until it was a faceroll match) i thiought of reinstalling.

So, what i should look forward to? Could i play solo competitve and have a decent experience this time?

Grats on no issues, I have been and it’s not something I usually have issues with barring the 1 or 2 random dcs I get a season. The last few days though I would get dc’d every other match, so much so that I received a penalty for leaving early. Something I didn’t even know happened out of comp.

I get some awful bug with my audio drivers ONLY in Overwatch the last couple months. It kills my framerate and makes the game periodically mute for 3-5 seconds (sound on, sound off, sound on, sound off). I just force close the realtek shit in my task manager and it fixes itself. I never have problems in any game except Overwatch.

The endorsement system sucks because there’s no way to keep people from endorsing my shitty healer play. On the bright side, Private Profiles means I can’t be embarassed about an insufferably high 59% win rate with Torbjörn.

Just had the best game in a long time, very evenly matched and people played extremely well. I played doomfist and killed. got the POTG with a fist to the face kill followed by a quad kill meteor strike followed by a jumpy-attack throw off the map team-kill. Had an amazing healer on our team keeping me going (really makes doomfist shine). Despite the new endorsement system one guy even lost his shit and started screaming about smurfs, he just wanted to test a hero he hadn't played much. I only got one endorsement that match, I've only been playing doomfist since the latest patch and I usually get between 3-4 every match while being less of a team-player. I dislike the system overall as it doesn't at all promote good behavior.

I needed a game like that, since the game has become a lot worse with the symmetry reworks IMO, there is something annoying and extremely tedious about fighting against turrets and other no-skill abilities, playing against torbjorn+symmetra+Moira mean it's going to be a terribly boring match even when we steamroll them.

I don't understand why any of that is complaint worthy. It all sounds good to me. There's nothing wrong with being endorsed, even if you played 'badly'. Your teammates think you were good enough, that's all. What's wrong with having a high win rate with Torb? I have a 100% win rate with him, he's a really good character, especially in Escort.



On topic, just played for the first time yesterday since Endorsements went live. It's dumb that it is reserved for Quickplay, Competitive, and 3v3. I play Mystery Heroes most of the time, it's the most fun mode in my opinion. But I still like Endorsements. I've been getting 2 or 3 purple votes every match, sometimes a green vote or 2. It would be nice to know which players have Endorsed you, but oh well.

I was playing Comp earlier, doing my placement matches, when a match ended before it started because someone left immediately after joining. I hate people that do that, it does nothing but wastes everybody's time, and it happens on a regular basis. Anyways, after that happened this morning, I still got 3 or 4 endorsements (including Shot Caller, for some weird reason) even though nobody did anything...

When people start that shit I tell them to stop it, to fuck off, that no one cares for their fucking endorsement level, and I will never endorse anyone.

I'm currently Rank 3 endorsement level.

All you have to do is play the game and people throw that shit out for the experience.

The endorsement system is stressing me out. I hit 3, dropped to 2 after leaving a handful of QP matches in a short span of time (leaving a match seems to really put a dent in your endorsement score), then got up to 3 again. It's making me play more support than I normally would.

I also saw a level 4 mercy today with a Korean name and she was pistoling the whole match. No idea what happened there. I've also seen a few duos with extremely similar and unlikely color wheels, like level 2 with 1/2 yellow. Maybe people have found a way to cheese the system or maybe the color wheel really does reflect people's personalities accurately.

I predict that most support mains will plateau at 3, tanks at 2-3 and dps at 1-2. People that only do competitive are a bit screwed because you can't endorse people on your friend list and you can't endorse the same people over and over.

Because I would rather people not endorse bad playing. Also Torb is basically the Overwatch equivalent to Alex Jones if he were an actual Nazi. Torb's kit is fun, but Torb himself is a garbage character that should be removed from the game.

The endorsement system has nothing to do with mechanical skill. It's supposed to be a way to give props to people who are helpful with communication, show good teamwork, or just simply not acting like cocks. It's not meant to recognise good players or put down bad ones. That's what the MMR/SR system is for. And frankly, that's fine with me, since I think people should be able to endorse the guy who swapped to a needed tank when no one else was willing even if he wasn't particularly good at it.

Anyway, I'll take fake nice people over assholes any day. Eventually the novelty of the endorsement system will wear off and people will stop giving a shit (does it even do anything yet besides just display a number?) but I'm going to enjoy it in the meantime.

me the only healer on Moira. The other team had a bastion that did not die one time the entire match (despite me consistently hitting him with my purple orbs). I had 3 ults, and one of them was blocked by my own Mei's icewall (cast AFTER I started my ult, while I had my purple orb and ult working on the bastion).

Literally no ill intention here, but typing this and then wondering if the game is classifying you as bad seems to put a case together that you might not be as good as you want to be. If choosing healer is your way of carrying a low skilled team, you should be healing your face off. Definitely should not spend all match trying to hunt down a Bastion who is a long range and very high damage character compared to your relatively close range and very squishy non dps character.

In all fairness, switching to a dps that counters Bastion would have probably worked better than playing Moira.
