Insofar as capitalism is a system of competition which is zero-sum, this is already true, as measured by wealth.

In terms of the accelerating concentration of wealth by the rich - around 2030 one person will own half of all the wealth on Earth - and if our current trend continues - by around 2080, a single person will own all the wealth on earth: that is the God-Person.

So obviously that won't work, which means a new system will rise before then - because the current one has an expiration date.



The threat isn't so much a lack of supply - the historic threat throughout all human history - but the turmoil of the transition. If it is managed well, then perhaps a utopia is in our future. If it is managed poorly, then fear and revulsion will incite violence - to futilely hold back the technological tide.

I am ever the pessimist, I always bet most of my chips on black (Death), so alas I will assume things go badly and it all falls to shit since there are likely going to be a lot of "Full Tyranny," types and other bad actors.

Though if it all works out, you and Connal are owed a beer I suppose, or motor oil depending on what your bodies need.

Depends on whose definition you are using, McCarthy's, Marx's, common parlance, or modern political theory.

If you're willing to play fast and loose with the definition of 'Globalism = Socialism', then I'd say 'Civilization = Socialism' is at least as accurate ;p

By that backward logic then Capitalism is Socialism because it's a form of Civilization. What I use is called an actual definition instead of a redundant turn of logic.

You didn't really address the underlying premise though. Of course healthy nationalism isn't a problem.

What you mentioned though is essentially a isolationist/separatist effort on the part of futurists, a colonization of Mars or elsewhere made up of these futurists and leaving Earth to the luddite inclined normal humans. It's certainly an interesting idea and one that I'd personally be for, and it's about the only way you'd ever see anything along the lines of Manifest Destiny attempted peacefully.

Nothing ever progressed by running away. The Iron hand of progress must be beaten out in conflict, this is human nature at it's core.

Yeah I agree with this, and as I said it's about the only way for things to be resolved peacefully. Hopefully that'd be the driving sentiment if such a time comes about.
