I'd probably never get it but it looks fun as hell.

While the price is somewhat steep, I am sure collectors would gladly pay that price.
I would love to get the chance to assemble it, I mean it must take hours given how many pieces it contains.
That's awesome!
Not worth it money wise sadly, you'll likely make it and then never let anyone play with it because of how much it was and it will be a ~$850 dust collecting ornament.
There's a cheap chinese knock called Lepin blocks.
They have that set but for like 25% of the cost.
bit expensive for legos

Back around 2007 Lego dropped a 5200 piece Ultimate Collectors Millennium Falcon, which was made as a limited run of only something like 20 thousand kits. If you actually wanted to try to get one of those today, it would probably set you back a cool 5K on todays market.
Getting an updated model, with nearly half again as many pieces, for roughly the same price as the original limited run kit, strikes me as a pretty good deal, all things considered.
Few hours is an understatement. I own the Lego Tumbler, which clocks in at just under 2000 pieces. It took me roughly 6 hours (3 days, of 2 or so hour sessions) over my christmas holidays to put it together. The thing came with FIVE sequential instruction books.....
Comparatively, the monster Millennium Falcon at 7500+ pieces would likely take you most of a full day to build. I mean, christ, the thing is nearly 3 feet long, almost 2 feet wide, and 2/3 of a foot tall! It's bloody insane.

I know right. The next item I was thinking of adding to my collection if I ever had money to burn was the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, but this new Falcon is just a thing of beauty.
