Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

Iirc, Sargeras created the Burning Legion in order to combat the Old Gods. Azeroth dwellers have long opposed the Burning Legion, and now they (us players) have the Legion cornered and about to be routed once and for all. But wouldn't that imply paving the way for the OGs' rise? After all, the one purpose of the BL is to scour any world whose soul has been infected by the OGs.

Most strikingly, the leadership of the Alliance (the only faction that counts in this xpac so far) appears to be completely oblivious to that possibility, even Tyrande and Malfie, who are both old acquaintances of the Legion, and whose master Cenarius was actually corrupted by an Old Gods' vassal. And he's not the only relevant figure to have gone insane due to OG-scheming; you have also Archbishop Benedictus, Fandral Staghelm and of course, Garrosh. How can anyone not realize that there is something amiss? Old Gods' work at their best?

No, it wasnt to combat the Old Gods, it was to combat the Void Lords from ever corrupting a sleeping World Soul (Titan). An Old God is nothing to a titan considering that Aman'Thul squished the strongest one on Azeroth between his fingers (Y'Shaarj).

The goal of the Burning Legion is to scour ALL LIFE and WORLDS in the universe. Sargeras believes that an universe without life is better than a universe controlled by the Void Lords.

I mean sure, we play into the Void Gods hand if we kill him, but it's either us getting killed by Sargeras instantly considering he still is out for Azeroth, or us eventually getting fucked by the Void Lords, so might as well cast the die and try to beat the Void Lords.

Sargeras might have noble goals, but he is still crazy.

Well OP is sorta right. The Old Gods are the minions of the Void Lords.

Given our track record, im not at all worried. We will most likely beat sargeras and vanquish the burning legion.
So in short us the player > sargeras/burning legion > all other titans.
so given that us the players are the most powerful thing in the universe it makes sense we should take care of the biggest threat to the universe next.

Azerothians ignore the void lords' existence (except Magni, a little) and Sargeras' end goal. Also, while end may justify the means, the means involve us dying so we would be forced to dight back even if we knew

But didn't the NE actually fight C'thun back in the day? There is a quest series in Silithus that describes Fandral's major role in locking C'thun down into AQ, long before the Vanilla timeline. Of all Azeroth's races, they ought to be the most aware of the OGs. Instead you have Tyrande and Malfie cuddling in Darnassus, and Maiev basically MIA.

That's what I meant, sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, and we also fought C'thun and Yoggy (and remains of Y'shaarj). Doesn't make us any wiser about the existence of the void lords since we haven't tortured the info out of one of them or anynthing.
