If you want to start playing something new and get ready for higher SR, Tracer is a fun pick as well as 76/McCree being decent all around (personally I hate McCree's rate of fire).
You already devote a lot of time to Widow, and while I appreciate a good Widow, I always feel they are just as bad as Genji mains, in that regardless of how little they are helping or getting countered they just refuse to switch after the game starts. Had a game today with a Genji going against a McCree, Winston, and Sym and was completely useless. He was getting countered so hard that people even accused him of throwing. Same token, I've had Widow on my team that does really well but then enemy team grabs a shield tank or a Winston to counter her (you don't even need to kill Widow to counter her, just chasing her off every time she thinks she has a good spot and then getting back to the team fight is almost always sufficient), and refuses to swap, making us effectively a 5v6 game.
Also, around 2300-2500 Hog/Zarya comps are super effective if played well together, and Hog might be another you could try out.
As to the OP: find heroes you like and get good with them, but keep in mind, characters like Torb, Widow, and Sym are usually viewed as bad picks by the majority. Try and branch out a bit too. If you want in on Comp, start playing comp; but, if you go on a losing streak call it for a while. If you still want to keep playing the game, swap to QP or FFA and branch into some new characters so you aren't limited to only 3-4. There will be games those characters have been picked.
