Sure. Have I ever implied that people shouldn't? I'm definitely not one of the "don't politicize this!" people. The whole thing is inherently political - any choice to respond, not respond, say "trust the experts", suggest that economics is or isn't important, and so on. There is no way to be purely apolitical in discussing the government response to it.

I do tend to object to the dumbest criticisms and there are plenty of those here, but criticism of COVID-19 responses is fine by me.

Thank you, oh wise one, for giving us permission to express our opinions. We truly are indebted to your wisdom.

What a fucking stupid and pointless reply. Someone asked, I answered plainly.

That's not even remotely a helpful response.

Save the vitriol for the bad faith posters.

Because I hope you mean the former.

I'm sure he was truly asking for your permission.

It definitively wasn't a rhetorical question used to point out how often you fly to Trump's defense, even as you claim "he's not your guy". No sir.

I see what you did there...

It's amazing to me, still to this day, the total tonnage of willful ignorance it takes to continue to be a Trump supporter (which doesn't include those politicians who know Trump is a fucking dimwitted moron, but are out for their own interests regardless).

Trumpsters struggle with sarcasm. It's because their Dear Leader spouts such ridiculousness it's tough to separate the silly sarcasm from the ridiculous rantings. Be patient, hopefully the road to recovery and healing will begin soon.

I cannot believe, still, that Team Deplorable is putting his name on the checks.

Weird...so Obama was warning of the threat of pandemics and tried to secure billions in funding to prepare for one? And Republicans blocked that funding?

    So weird!

Or predictable. This is why you don't run a government like a business. Businesses are built to be lean in this economy and, for the bigger ones, they can rely on getting bailed out by the government. The government...doesn't have a safety net, they are the safety net. And when you leave your safety net unrepaired with massive holes, then it's not going to be very effective when you actually need it.

Bank gets my paycheck Thursday, hits my account Friday.

We should ask that crisis response team how they operate without funding to OH RIGHT. Trump fired them.

I still love how Trump tried to say Obama left him a faulty test. If Obama had any COVID-19 tests in 2016, three years before the virus was known, that's amazing.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell is fully on board the MAGA train. Because why would anyone want to stay at home during a pandemic?

I'd want to convene multiple committees/panels to investigate whether or not he's an actual time traveler.

I know right. And then he borrowed it to the Dems so they could start planning on impeaching and removing Trump from office before he was even the Republican candidate! Damn those Democrats and their stupid time machines!

First of all, acting. Thanks for making that distinction.

Second of all, for those who don't want to give him the clicks satisfaction, all he did was say, yes in all caps, the Constitution was A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP TO LEAVE YOUR HOUSE. As discussed before, Trump supporters cannot use "muh Constitution!" as a defense anymore, since Trump said he had absolute authority to end stay-at-home orders from states, when no such power exists. Oh, and he's also blocking oversight into that coronavirus relief bill he signed that requires oversight, and replaced the IG guy who was supposed to be watching it.

It's like people who say "but the Bible says..." while eating pork at the dinner they're sharing with their second wife. You don't get to pick and choose which parts of the law apply to you.

It looks like WI gave a big "fuck you" to Trump's pick for State Supreme Court; Dem-backed challenger wins State Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin primary

Democrats scored a significant victory in Wisconsin on Monday night when a liberal challenger upset a Trump-backed incumbent to win a State Supreme Court seat, a down-ballot race that illustrated strong turnout and vote-by-mail efforts in a presidential battleground state.

Dane County Circuit Judge Jill Karofsky was propelled by thousands of motivated Democrats, who were angered by GOP insistence on going forward with the election amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Ya, it's preformative tone policing, like those cranky muppets in the balcony.

I think i need their Country Club take on this scenario:
    • Trump has been challenging the authority and good intentions of Governors like Whitmer.
    • Inspiring MAGAs to a gridlock protest against Whitmer's stay-at-home order in downtown Lansing.
    • This exact scenario is a fear I've heard from locals.
    • There is an ambulance that can't get through on Grand.

Trump inspires abject cruelty and incompetence, but pleaze tell us about the derrangement of people that point it out.
