Edit: Though IIRC Pence was there at the event, no? So if he's not positive then it's likely that Jenkins was likely not contagious then, but could have caught it in the WH.

As I recall, that was to maintain the separation of powers because he couldn't serve in both the Legislative and Executive Branches simultaneously. I'm not entirely certain as to the accuracy of that (though I got the feeling they typically did their homework), but in any case I suspect that were Pence to temporarily become Acting President due to Trump being incapacitated with Covid-19, he would during that time no longer be able to break ties in the Senate.

If anyone ever had a thought that they could celebrate QAnon people finally realizing that their whole belief structure is just pure bullshit, this really will disabuse them of that notion. People who dive unabashedly into this level of conspiracy thinking are pretty much irredeemable. Some might break free, but they'll be the exception and not the rule.
