People need to start getting fucking charged for this shit.

Biden seems to be too busy channelling Buchanan in this regard.

Well then. Someone better pick up that phone.

    Because I fucking called it.

I knew it was going to be like those predictions when the world is going to end. World didn't end when you predicted it? No problem, just come up with another date.

Seems the MAGAts are bigger fans of bombs and explosives, so New Years feels very appropriate.

FUCKING YAY. Billions wasted on a fucking wall that fell down because of fucking RAIN. They ignored bedrock environmental laws and now the fucking wall is literally SWISS CHEESE.

What is really funny, is that if you read the article, you could see, that area doesn't get very much rain, and the rain they got, was only 2 inches of rain. Which caused a flash flood, which caused the issue we have with the so called "wall" now. Just wait until a hurricane goes that direction for some reason, the whole thing will be gone.

Technically, Jesus "came back" at Easter. You know, Easter? When COVID was gone and everyone could pack into churches?

Oh, please. A hurricane's as likely to hit the Texas coast as it is to hit Albany.

Another Florida county requires masks, yet another defiant order vs. wannabe-Trump DeSantis.

Tallahassee this time, so we're working our way down from the larger districts in Miami and Orlando towards the smaller ones. Pretty sure school starts Monday, so this last-minute change is likely to bring ire.

Yeah, he talks about how positivity rates in their schools just just for a few days are like...double what they were the previous year. I wonder how long until the reality of the situation breaks through this partisan bubble MAGAts have built around themselves.

Part of the fallout from 4 disastrous years of Trump has been the ongoing radicalization of the right. If you go back and watch news reports or even late night comedy shows from 2016-2020 and it's a reminder of how extreme and bad things were. Trump and his cohorts were constantly doing or saying hateful or bigoted extreme things in response to backlash over things they did. They did this so much that it kind of became a cultural thing on the right that evolved into greatly exaggerating when making attacks on the left.

It really started with the GOP and Bernie Sanders. Bernie has pushed for universal healthcare, and in 1 moment he said if calling for universal healthcare makes me a socialist call me a socialist. The GOP took that sentence and ran with it, attacking Bernie as wanting to change the US from Democracy to a Socialist form of government. That lie worked against him. So because of that it has continued. It's usually over attacks on the 1%. Even middle-class or lower-class Americans that don't have much are still very susceptible to fear mongering that any of their money will be taxed or will go to other people. The top 1% use that fear mongering to have the lower and middle class GOP do their dirty work, actually convincing them to argue against taxing the wealthy or things that would benefit them and all citizens like universal healthcare while the billionaires just sit back and laugh. Say anything the 1% doesn't like and you will very quickly be labeled a Marxist. The ideas on Bernie's platform such as paid time off for birthing moms, universal healthcare, or increasing taxes on the 1%, are NOT remotely close to Marxism. Actually take a couple hours and read Karl Marx and come back if you have even the smallest doubt about that. But that is the extreme state of where the GOP is today; exaggerate, lie, and if all else fails make up baseless conspiracy theories. The right will do whatever they are told by FOX even if it kills them.

However, those attacks have extended even further. The exaggeration and radicalization of the right is so bad that if if a public figure suggests increasing taxes on the wealthy or helping the homeless, the right immediately labels them a "Socialist". They fail to understand btw that many of our ally countries such as the UK are socialist, and people do own homes and cars there. The GOP then takes advantage of people that aren't educated enough to understand the terms to then mix the words Socialist and Communist, usually labeling the person a China-supported Communist who supports Karl Marx. It's a huge exaggeration and total lie, but those play well on social media where you can throw out a one-way attack in a simple meme. Then social media does the rest to spread lies that a person is a Communist or Marxist just from a suggestion of increasing taxes or helping homeless. The fact that so many people on the right have bought into it is mass psychosis. The fear mongering is VERY strong to a soccer mom that she'll lose her new crossover suv or man that he'll lose his new F150 pickup if the US gives $500 to a single parent or if the US doesn't have the most dysfunctional healthcare system in the world. And sad that so many people on the right don't realize they are being exploited into believing lies, spreading hate, and acting against their own best interests.

These sorts of policy decisions need to be made gradually for precisely the purpose you note… people will knee-jerk react to broad sweeping policy changes as being socialist overreaches.

But implementing these policies piecemeal? Much more effective.

Biden lost Florida, and the gop did a powerful job of casting him as a secret socialist puppet doing the bidding of AOC and Bernie. But at the same time Florida also passed a 15 dollar minimum wage increase.

And once passed, those things are much more difficult to remove once people find out how much they like them.

Wait...I thought daddy Trump, and Pence/Pompeo, have been stanning hard for the Taliban? And extreme-right online people suddenly realized they love sharia law?

Why is Jr. bashing the Taliban that his daddy loves to try to fundraise?

Imagine actually living in their alternate reality where The Radical Left™ had as much power as they pretend it does. Maybe kids in those schools would actually be getting decent educations, and go out into a society where they're less likely to be instantly bankrupt by medical bills...

But of course, by "the radical left" they really just mean "normal, well-adjusted people who care more about the well-being of those around them than jacking themselves off while singing the national anthem."

I just love the term, "Radical Left", when it comes to US. The Democrats are in the middle, if not slightly to the right. It instantly shows who the truly radical are.

That's true. But I also wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if a good number of the people they're slapping that label on actually vote Republican. They just don't want the kids in their classes to get sick.
