The 7th one can be gotten from doing a class hall upgrade. I'm not sure if all classes can do that.

Your limit is raised from 5 to 6 when you recruit your follower from the Broken Shore at the end of your class campaign's second branch. All classes can choose between a new troop with 30% success and a counter to spell or hazard or minion; or the increased limit to 7. If your class has the ability to restore troop vitality, like druids, you can recruit the two troops you want, then switch to the larger limit, and essentially have both of that row's traits. So long as you don't deplete them or send them on a mission with an uncountered deadly threat you can keep the same two forever like I have.
