It was. Against teams with no underneath game. Patriots just using shovel passes and screens in place of runs.

The zone just doesn't work against Brady. I would think a 17 year career of him picking apart zones would have made this clear, but he'll just pick apart the soft underbelly of zone coverage all day, every day.

Same. If Brady keeps playing this way though, Chargers don't have a chance. They just don't have an offense that can hang and their defense is playing poorly early. As a Bills fan I hate Tom Brady, but I have to marvel at his ability and longevity as a player. His o-line is protecting really well today too, and that's huge. Originally Posted by eschatological

Chargers can't cover in zone or tackle in man, and they've got two delay of game penalties on offense, so far so ugly.
