Muscial chairs is fine as long as there are enough players to fill the chairs, blizz killed off voljin without any consideration for the darkspear, they went an entire expansion without a leader! losing voljin is one thing, i can accept that (even though it was handled like shit) but the lack of any consideration for darkspear players felt really bad.

Honestly, sylvanas as warchief didnt really do much for legion, she could have had her stormhiem campaign without killing off voljin, they could have saved his death for a more impactful spot in the story. heck, his death would have been awesome at the end of the expansion or the start of the next one.

His death felt like it was only there because alliance had a lore figure die and they had to even the scales, so voljin was their sacrificial lamb to appease the alliance. he didnt even get to do anything significant as warchief, such a let down.

I keep promoting the idea that bwonsamdi convinced sylvanas to be warchief because she would lead to helas demise which would increase his own power in the shadowlands, then when voljin finds out he destroys bwonsamdi and takes up the mantle of loa of death.

Having one horde leader as essentially the god of death and bolvar as the lich king, it would make an interesting story arc for an expansion, would go a long LONG way to make voljins death meaningful

It feels contrived when one or more characters gets dark horsed into a narrative when you know they're not gonna be there for long. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind this for the purpose of finding new villains, as the point of most villains are to be hidden until it matters, and we're running out of established ones for named ...'people'. Not so for the leader of your primary faction, which for me is Horde. It feels exhasperating with continuous yay/nay for and against characters that you either like and don't want to be so easily disposable in favor of someone you despise and can't wait to be offed. It's not fun. It's a waste of characters. Established or not, we can't keep having hidden prodigies lying around.

Granted, it's most likely an overreaction as such, since even if they did this, it doesn't have to be a fast-paced narrative...buuut Blizz doesn't really have the best track record for writing. Pinches of salt depending on your perspective. Either way, I didn't like Garrosh much, but he at least had some potential. Unfortunately Blizz villained him up so hard and hammy that it ended with a raid. I'd rather not have this stuff repeated. It feels extremely biased when it comes to the whole 'faction war' thing, which I'm really not a fan of either after all the world-destroying threats we've continuously been cooporating to end...only to then go right back to fighting over something petty in comparison because must be the kid with the best toy in the sandbox!

And again, Anduin has pretty much been solidified as Grand King McGuffin...unless they pull a Shayamallama and something happens to indispose him because lol prophecies.

But yeh. For my part it's just a tired subject with faction war, and it's not helping it for me if they're gonna write up and discard the next 5 warchiefs, because I have an extremely hard time believing that they could even do that with any merit in writing. That and again, if it's a character you like? Too bad, they're getting axed soon, have fun dreading the next one! Or worse, it'll be a voting war by players...

You left out the only good option you offered from your poll.

Blue is the no brainer. Doesn't ruin Saurfang, doesn't ruin Sylvanas, and ends the pointless faction conflict.

I dislike the fact that Saurfang lives in all these scenarios.

Red Pill is the least stupid of all the stupid options.

But I guess the point is to choose from one of multiple stupid options, so I'll forgive it.

Honestly, this whole "Durrr it's WAAAARcraft" shit has been hurting the lore and world so much at this point. Faction war should have ended after Wc3.
Since Warcraft 3? What? This game was made around the faction conflict. Horde. Alliance. Orc vs Human. The eternal cycle of hatred. The deep lore reasons behind every world ending threat (a.k.a the Void Lords) came later.

After fighting demons, gods and a supreme deity; the faction war, the political disputes and a simple skirmish between a group of forsaken and a pack of worgen, is a ground earthing and welcome rpg experience.

No it wasn't the game was about how the Horde was trying to move on from it's old ways and find a new beginning, and how the factions united against a new greater and far more dangerous foe requiring them to put aside their bickering. Really the only faction war in Wc3 is in the first few missions, alongside some skirmishes between Jaina and Thrall's forces and finally...Proudmoore's attack on the Horde. That's all.

Something which kept happening in Vanilla and TBC. Instead they had to constantly force the faction conflict with completely idiotic reasons. Like Thrall placing Garrosh in charge after his behavior through all of Wotlk, because that's totally wise and not coming to deal with him when he starts going on a war spree ruining everything he did for his Horde.

The constant forced Alliance/Horde faction conflict is what is ruining the Warcraft lore at this point, because it ruins the immersion and the suspense of disbelief. In a realistic setting, the factions would be in a state of cold war and dislike, tending to themselves but at peace.
