Oh wait let me guess how this movie is gonna go:
1) A short display of her powers in the opening scene
2) A display of the baddie’s power shortly thereafter.
3) oh so that’s what this movie’s major conflict is
4) Marvel loses her powers somehow, whatever it is she got nerfed and will have to dig deep to overcome her mental problems
5) Baddie destroys so much stuff
6) Marvel has a “ah ha!” Moment of genius
7) Marvel wins the fight... BARELY...
8) A small teaser, a hook into the next movie
It's a 2hr and 12m movie. Not sure if that counts the credits. if it does, then the movie will probably be about 1hr and 50mins. Pretty short for a marvel film

Movie runtimes always count the credits.
As for 132 minutes being "pretty short for a Marvel film"
GotG 2:137 minutes
Winter Soldier:136 minutes
Black Panther:134 minutes
Spider-Man:133 minutes
Iron Man 3:131 minutes
Thor Ragnarok:130 minutes
Iron Man:126 minutes
Iron Man 2:125 minutes
Captain America:124 minutes
GotG:122 minutes
Ant-Man and the Wasp:118 minutes
Ant-Man:117 minutes
Dr. Strange:115 minutes
Thor:114 minutes
Thor Dark World:112 minutes
Hulk:112 minutes
Basically, Captain Marvel is longer than every Thor, Ant-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, or Dr. Strange movie, longer than the first GotG and Cap movie, and falls just 5 minutes shorter than GotG 2, 4 minutes shorter than Winter Soldier, 2 minutes shorter than Black Panther, and 1 minute shorter than Spiderman. It's only notably shorter than the Avengers movies and Civil War(which was basically Avengers 2.5) which all tend to be a fair bit longer than usual "singular hero title" movies.
I get that you're not doing this, I'm just piggybacking.
Is this what we're down to now? We've run so low on things to hate on this movie for that we're gonna talk shit over it's run time? And, like with so many other complaints about this movie, the actress, and so on, it's so obviously false? Like, holy hell I don't even know what to say at this point! That's just so friggen petty.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
The movie looks medicore, beyond the 'I'm putting the HER in HERO' narrative that's been pushed. It's been a mix of not being all that interested in a movie that's deriding it's core audience - sure did gangbusters for Ghostbusters, Ocean's Eight and (to a lesser extent) the last few Star Wars releases - along with simple Marvel burnout.
Given a choice between a production like this one and another like Venom, or even the upcoming Shazam!, I'm comfortable knowing where my money's going.
Got my ticket for 12:30 on Friday afternoon. Took the day off to see it!
This is the first Marvel movie i think i'll skip. Doesn't look that good and i really don't care about Captain Marvel.
We were very clear, this thread has been warned almost a dozen times in the past week: keep politics/social agenda talk out of the Cinema subforum, and keep it in GenOT. Most of you who recently have been derailing the thread haven't been active in it in the past week, so let this serve as a warning. There have been more infractions in this past week of this thread than there have been since its creation. Talking about film criticism is about critiquing the actual film. Talking about the state of film criticism and the critics themselves - is not on topic for this subforum.
Booked 3d screening for next Sunday. I couldnt give a single fuck if Larson is a feminist or not. I just want to keep up with the story of MCU P3.
