Do you believe that the Horde vs Alliance conflict is primarily a simple good vs evil battle right now? Why or why not?
Do you think each faction's motives, ethics, or means have changed over each expansion? How so?

It's not that simple.
It is a cycle of hatred started by the Burning Legion's manipulation.
I don't look at it anymore, like character motives, or are these people good or these people bad. I now look at it more from the outside and how Blizzard's writers are completely incompetent and constantly make bad decisions.
Not that the characters are making bad decisions, but the writers are making bad decisions, you know? Kinda like Game of Thrones, where some people are mad that Dany went evil at the end, but more of us are mad that Dave and Dan are horrible writers.
That, too. There could've been peace, but the Warchief, and more importantly, Varok Saurfang was convinced that the hatred that each faction had for one another would not make everlasting peace.
Thanks to Sargeras' attack, now they have even bigger weapons to enact onto this hatred.
Pre cata both factions were the same shade of neutral, fighting for different reasons but not being good or evil.
In cata the horde took a turn towards evil between garrosh being a dick and the forsaken doing a lot of shady stuff but they weren’t fully evil. The alliance took a step to being nicer by helping the wargen letting the dark iron in and the night elfs letting mages back in, though they were still dicks in places like with the goblins.
In mop they both got lighter with the horde cutting out garrosh and the alliance letting the horde live.
Wod was a whole lot of nothing.
Legion both got darker with the sylvanas making deals with Death gods to enslave allies and the alliance attacking the horde.
And then bfa comes in and throws any sort of shade away and turns the horde into a unprecedented level of evil mass murdering civs and then raising them into undead. The alliance on the other hand stays the same doing some shady stuff but over all staying middle of the road.
As i said in the other post before, it depends on the Date Time.
Vanilla WoW: the Horde and Alliance were in a Cold War. Both having little skirmishes and transgressions.
Stormwind Alliance hostile agressions against the Forsaken
Orgrimmar Horde tresspassing into Night Elves territories.
TBC: we became partially allieds because Legion Stuff
Wrath: WAS THE FIRST TIME THE HORDE AND ALLIANCE FIGHTING TOGETHER brothers and sisters shoulder to shoulder. Until Legion and Forsaken stuff, and we returned to a neutral agression.
Cataclysm: reseted everything returning to the initial conflict BUT this time was the opposite:
Orgrimmar Horde: Conquering Territories and the Night Elves fighting back (Darkshore battle before the Bfa, intriguing right?
Alliance of Stormwind: having economic problems and massive corruption, worguen situation and politics.
FOrsaken: going rampage and conquering northern Eastern Kingdom
Until Garrosh nuked THeramore and the Horde become Evil Horde Up until final patch of Pandaria, were the horde split in 2, the Good Horde of VOljin and the Evil Horde Garrosh.
WoD: this expansion never explored anything it just happened.
Legion: like Wrath the 2 factions join forces against Legion Stuff (somehow Varian trust Sylvi) Voljins its dead Sylvannas has a hiddden Agenda, Varian Dies, the Horde and the Alliance become enemies again, only Horde Champions help against legion and the Full might of the Alliance go to fight the Legion thanks to the Vindicar.
BFA: Sylvannas leads the Horde to fight the NElves for Northen Kalimdor Domination trading Lordaeron, the Horde becomes CHaotic Evil, until next revolution happens.
