The rift might be less wide, but there might still be a rift.

Blood Elves and High Elves split apart well before the Blood Elves joined the Horde. The rift between them was already there.

Likewise, the Void Elves were exiled because they researched the Void - it had nothing to do with the Alliance at first. They joined the Alliance later on in the questline because, well, the story demanded that they do. But, they already hated each other before Alleria even met them.

As far as High Elves and Void Elves, that has had almost no development. We'll see how they treat each other in the future, if Blizzard remembers that High Elves exist.

So...no, not much would really change, because they all split apart from each other before one faction ever joined the Horde, and before another faction even thought about the Alliance.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.

Quel'thalas was in an absolute emergency situation the kingdom in ruins the scourge barreling down on them, no allies in sight and people refused to use a method that could make certain they are functional members of society.

The moment things stabilized the society became more lenient but in this state of emergency it was of course brutal to dissenters.
So they didn't pull their weight and yet were able to survive out in the middle of nowhere killing undead.......

Because they sought shelter in human lands, something the kingdom couldn't do and yes some of the high elves did go mad or got crippled, due to their choice, others stole artifacts to sate their hunger.

As for the blood elves indeed they didn't, because of these choices.

Stirring up trouble at home, while an undead army is at your doorstep is the surest way to get everyone killed, fact still remains sating the hunger by draining mana is healthy, while not sating it is hindering you and your capabilities, with a chance of permanently either damage you physically or mentally. The choice the high elves made was utterly retarded, considering the circumstances of their people and kingdom.

Sadly many did, though it was, at that point, a personal choice as they left their kingdom, so yeah.

Playable high elves would be meaningless as an allied race. Cos a blood elf player should now be able to choose to play as a high elf if he pleases … void elf would become more unique as they are actually differnet from the high/blood elf and are differentiated by their void stuff.

For night elves, the nightborne and darnassian highborne order should actually finally be able to get along quite well without needing to all of a sudden pretend as if they don't know each other exists. The nightborne story can return to its 7.0 roots of being very kaldorei oriented. They would keep their blood elf friendship, but won't stop highborne and druid friendships from 7.0 that saw Farodin and the val'sharah druids and priests playing a role.

Maybe. Events over time have shown there is bad blood between blood and high elves of their own accord, but without grander faction pressure they might be able to reconcile. The toughest pill to swallow would be between Sunreavers and Silver Covenant, as the Purge showed the latter at their absolute worst (feeding civilians to a shark, for example). The latest patch showed the Sunreavers are still very much butthurt about it (as they should be imo).
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?
