There will be lengthy questlines on the importance of using protection and not just putting your faith in the light.

Garrosh introduced the Iron Horde and Archimonde led to the Legion threat. As for Argus it was less obvious, yet he clearly foreshadowed the recurring themes of Titans and Death we saw during BFA. Now we finally have N'zoth and we can expect more old gods in the future.

... And probably dreams since Ny'alotha emerged from N'zoth mind.

To be fair, if they were planning to do it for 9.0, they wouldn't tell one of the major expansion points almost one year before the expansion reveal.

The Shadowlands talk has made the revamp less likely, but Blizzard will need to renew the world at some point.

Yeah for 10.0. That's the popular opinion at least.

I would love to see another world revamp with new leveling experience. They could also finally merge Quel'Thalas and Draenei zones into the primary world server, getting rid of the old Quel'thalas closed zone and use some remaining part of terrain (Northeron/Stratholme) for the expac or to enhance leveling experience.
