Hopefully all the shitty cheaters from APES go down in flames
Blizzard only perma bans for serious exploits (duping for eg, even duping a vendor pet back in the day resulted in a perm ban), selling boosts for cash 6 months, buying boosts for cash (jaina mount for example was easily traceable at first = 1 month ban and mount/title removed). Exploits like repeat instance bug - a couple of days to a couple of weeks (like XP potion), botting 6 months first time, second time permanent, PvP account sharing 30 days ban and no participation in the next season.
Also many exploits got unpunished or semi punished for example;
Disable CRZ worked for 2 years nobody I know got in trouble,
Grabbing mythic(heroic) boss titles from LFR defeats also got none in trouble,
Instant respawn WQ AP farm in Legion did get people in trouble they kept all the AP gathered,
Brawlers rank10 with Ra'sha sacrificial knife also got none banned, they just made the knife unusable - thats why many got rank10 during week1/2 of Brawlers guild back in the day.
Infinite 25g gold per 2 seconds exploit recently got hotfixed, secret fish of Kun'lai had instant respawn and could be vendored infinitely, Blizzard simply removed vendor price.
This is why the quote "Exploit early, exploit often" exists and this is why people abused dungeons and layering, 8/10 times you get away with it, 9/10 times its worth it even if you get caught, and maybe 1/100 times you get in serious trouble.
I do not encourage exploiting - just stating facts based on history of WoW, as much as I love Blizzard they do a poor job at punishing people for abusing bugs, maybe they love their playerbase too much so there's that too..
can anyone let me know what exactly players were doing... at first it sounds like resetting an instance.. but the blue post is slightly vague
Watch this video, should explain everything about the exploit / bug:

"Oh we didnt do it on purpose, we dont know it was an exploit."
Fuck them and ban them all.
Or better fix this shit before its used.
Blizz has said time and again they want this as close to Classic as possible. Perma Bans were active during this time
People before classic launches: Pls Blizzard give us classic. We want the immersion, we want to spend time in the world, leveling in classic is the best, gear actually maters and is hard to come by.
The same people classic launched: Spending the whole time in 5mans (before the nerf even 10) aoe farming mobs, switching layers to increase farm and exploiting layers to farm dungeon bosses.
The more I think about it the "You think you do, but you don't" actually starts to make sense. I mean its undeniable people want Classic WoW but then again people playing it exactly like the retail version. Everything is so rushed. Its really funny though because people already quiting because the game is boring after 2 weeks. What did you expect? The one MC and Ony Raid each week is hardly entertaining if you dinged 60 and farmed your pre BIS in two weeks.
Id, say it's more of blizzards fault for not TESTING there systems properly, id say that this is "clever use of game mechanics" as it is possible to do IN GAME by anyone, BLIZZARD screwed up not the players using it, sure they abused it to death. and that's bad, but it's still BLIZZARDS fault it was doable in the first place.
Clever use of game mechanics? LMFAO!!!!
Those players knew it's exploiting and are aware of the effects it has on the game, not only for them, but for others.
Money, items, reputation gains - all acquired when it shouldn't have been possible.
It's not clever use of game mechanics, it's cheating/exploiting, pure and simple - if you see an exploit, don't fucking do it.
1. Bank transaction error
2. $$$
3. "They shoulda fixed it your honor!"
4. ???
5. Prison rape
They always told me I would miss my family... but I never miss from close range.
