Yeah this whole set ups bloody confusing. We going into a nightmare version of orgrimmar and stormwind where we see guards dead all over, but it's not actually the dead NPC's but N'zoth giving us horrible visions, however there are things in the visions that are real and can be killed but it's just pick and choose if they are real or not?

The raid, where we kill Ra-den, is in Nyalotah, aka azeroth in the present phased in another plan " separated from reality azeroth with a thin veil" . It's not a copy, he's the real deal

And to pour more salt on the injury is that he started to fall in love with MOTHER. Maybe it's actually a sign that he's not going to die. Maybe at 5% MOTHER will reason with him and admit her own feelings for him, freeing Ra from N'Zoth's control through the power of love.
