I always had the idea that Sylvanas could potential create Plague Worgens (Undead worgens) for the Horde...
it could have led to some interesting lore dynamic between her and Greymane.

We don't need any more races. We need more customisation for existing ones - retail WoW has to have the worst base appearance customisation options in the entire genre.

And the new Allied Races need fixing, particularly Nightborne. But they are too proud to admit they delivered shit and that existing stuff needs to be expanded.

Calia so far is unique and was created in netherlight temple by Alonsos Faol and Anduin under the guidance of the Naaru Saa'ra. She is to our knowledge the only light forged undead on Azeroth. Even before her ressurection she was special as her corspe did not decompose between her death and resurrection. It is way more likely that she will be a new leader to the (truley free) forsaken than her actually becoming the leader of some new race that flat out doesn't exist at this point in time. Maybe if they were to start lightforging normal forsaken, but frankly there is no indication lore for that as of yet.

Also why would the trolls recruit another troll race? They already recruited the Zandalari.

^ allso this. So much this. My favorite bitching point, beards, are the perfect example of the pathetic customization of wow characters. And as for the second point, yes, Nightborne the player race, looks 10 times worse than the NPC race. Like WTF, really Blizzard?

2) Lightforged Undead / Mogu (New female at PTR)
3) Lightforged Undead / Night Elfs Worgens (Night Elfs with antlers, first victims of curse) easy to do reskin.

Sylvanas had a unique form of undeath too (reclaiming her body) - she didn't spawn her own banshee allied race though.

And Calia is not a naaru.

I bet my money on it, its bargain about allowing Light (Calia as avatar of it) to made more undeads or reforge them into light versions.

BTW at ptr, she(Sylvanas) spawn her own allied race , new Undead Elfs. (100% allied race for 9.0+++)

if light undead became a thing, sadly look like is going to be horde because apparently callia is going to lead then.

Honestly there is not much options for the alliance, some leaks said a boar race could be a allied race, they can go alliance.

i would vote for botaani, as race who could help the night elves.

Maybe Saberon or Dragonmen/drakonid, night elves worgens look lame.

Stumbling on some random trolls on a island sounds pretty bad, why not use existing lore instead of conjuring stuff out of thin air?

If shapeshifting trolls *has* to happen why not evolve an existing tribe that should already be in the Horde like the Revantusk? Make them do a pact with a Lynx loa and catch two birds with one stone since we could finally have Forest Trolls which, due to their new shapeshifting abilities, would be quite different from the other two options we already have.
Heck, "Revantusk" sounds already saber-y enough without excessive lore-bending.

Sorry, Lightsomething Undead or "Nathanos/Derek" Undead are most likely Horde race. Alliance will get something Worgen or base on Worgen model (Nelf Worgen? Sethrak?).

The light undead, if they are real, are going Horde. Just because people don't like Calia on Horde doesn't mean she's not Horde now.

Male Zandalari use a heavily modded Night Elf skeleton with some new animations. Sadly, some night elf animations remain.
Female Zandalari were slapped on a female troll skeleton with only the /dance emote being different.
But hey, way better than Nightborne

I think Calia will continue to be a unique model. But I do think UD will get a fleshier option like Nathanos and Derek as their allied race. Or if Blizzard is extremely lame they will get undead Night Elves are their allied race.

Alliance will like get a dragonkin shapeshifter. Given the possible scenario datamined from Blackwing Descent
