The polls were certainly off in some places, but once all the votes are counted I think it will show they were within the margin of error for the most part. We'll have to wait another month or so to know for sure.

Which is exactly what happened to Jeff Sessions. He resigned, Trump tried to fill the seat with a pedophile so a democrat took it. Then Trump fired Sessions.

Presumably Biden isn't going to screw people over quite that hard. However, when appointing a senator or congressman to the cabinet they have to weigh the consequences of doing so. For instance, Elizabeth Warren is staying in the Senate, because if she was to be given a cabinet post, her seat would go to a Republican (Because Charlie Baker is Governor of Mass.).

What constantly pisses me off is this whole "rural is the RRAL MURICA".

America is where Americans live. Incidentally that happens to be in cities.

Our electoral system is so fucked that somehow the majority of the population is being lorded over by a minority who doesn't just have the ego to think they know everything better by the virtue of their rural ruggedness but go beyond to deriding the majority of population as "not the real Americans".

    Fuck this shit.

This is why we are winning because they came out to actually vote like their lives depended on it... because it very well may. I'm getting annoyed with the whole "white working class" being the main topic. Nevada and Georgia would like a word.

The black and latino vote will only increase in importance over time just due to demographics. And the people "fleeing urban cities to move to rural areas" ??? - oh yeah these are the people turning these areas purple and even blue

Oh, I am sure he will act like a big pouty child, but it really will be down who exactly runs 2024 and how Republicans will handle him. For example, it seems his kids have political aspirations of their own and RNC can give them a path for that, he'd get behind that.

Right, I mean, of course. But where are the outstanding votes going to come from? Skews either way or just a smattering from all over the state?
looks like most of the missing votes are from some of the most heavily biden areas (as well as one heavy trump one). so it'd just be a question of is it enough.

His influence in the coming years will be immense and he will be a big part of 2024 even if he does not decide to run himself - he will be like Bernie of Republican Party - a guy who won't be a president, but having influence that matters.

Some predictions from me on some cabinet positions.

I expect Bernie will be secretary of labor. Chris Coons will probably have a part of the administration, Im thinking secretary of state.

Right, half of America lives in these counties

Here's how the counties voted in the 2016 election

Los Angeles county alone has more population than the combined total of these counties

Loss Angeles county has more population than these states combined

Its so strange that people think the trump gives two shits about the republican party. He literally sent his base out to die to vote for him.

I have no doubt about it.

People who think he's finished are living in a dreamland. He's going to get so much $$ and influence out of this that he and his family is set for life, even with all this noise, lawsuits and what not that might or might not manifest.

He will start off by pushing his kids through party ranks and will end with having a big say who will run 2024 red-side. And Republicans will have to live with that, because they know that just like Bernie Sanders or even more than that - he will have millions of people doing whatever he says they should do in 2024.

It depends. Does Trump keep a stranglehold over the base? if so Trump Jr might run, which trump will be out in full force with. But financial and legal woes and everything else coming to the trump family, i think it's a safe bet that over the next series of months maybe a year or a little more than a year, people will start to forget trump. a years of new cycles without trump on them, people will have stopped thinking about the guy altogether. These people have short memories.

This three dimensional population map also gives you a good idea of how the country is split up. Most of the USA (where the red is) is vast open nothingness with a couple of people living on every few hundred acres.

If you want to hear a (not so) funny story, we have legitimately had Republicans come in here, look at those red/blue county maps, and say without a hint of irony that the US should go back to land owners being the only ones allowed to vote.
