In general candidates that supported M4A lost more support in their districts than those that did.

100% of the people that supported it and won were in safe districts.

Even if that was the only factor contributing to their performance, it shouldn't be all that surprising. "Fuck you, I got mine" isn't entirely limited to Republicans, and it isn't entirely Democrats who vote in these elections. People in this country love voting against their interest. Just look at how hard it is to try and get something as no-brainer as legal marijuana and an increased minimum wage passed.
