And the Nays reach 216, marking a failed objection in the House.
Looks like it will end up about the same as the last one, unsurprisingly.

Just gonna put this right here. Apparently Giuliani called the newly sworn in Tuberville, IMPLORING him to stall this out as long as possible. Of course Giuliani putz'd it up and left it on the VOICEMAIL of ANOTHER SENATOR, who promptly shared it.
Why stall it until tomorrow? What is being planned for tomorrow? Are they even trying to hide their crimes anymore?
note: this was AFTER the whole invasion event

Yup he would have, but I assume if Purdue won Kemp would do what you suggest and make Perdue temporary until he was officially certified. And if it came within .5% it would go into recount and take even longer still to certify.
edit - want to add my dad told me earlier today that he heard they are trying to get the certification done asap, they officially have til jan 22 but it should be done much sooner, well before inauguration day.

What an embarrassing day for the US...
Well at least the senate is blue now. Thank you Georgia and especially Stacey Abrams!

A few more are voting Aye this time than last. It's at 135 to 262 (34 NV) so far.

It's holding steady at 137 to 280 (14 NV). We may get a gavel soon.

I dunno why I'm staying up for this...
Same reason I am, probably:
Closure.

Gavel coming in, vote stands at 138 to 282 (11 NV), which is higher than the last 121 to 303 (7 NV). Vote still fails.
So we move back to the joint session. Then we'll see if they bother with even a failed objection to Wisconsin. By that point, Biden will already be past his 270 EVs anyway.

Based on what they just said on c-span there shouldn't be anymore debates on the remaining 12 states.
So this should be over soon.
