To the three people above - largely because it’s highlighting that there was looting and rioting in Kenosha and that could be viewed as a proximate cause. But maybe not, my liberal outrage detector has never been very good.

I mean, I'm not sure how one could believe this in a vacuum unless one can only view the world through binary partisan lens's. That or one is getting information from bad-faith, dishonest right-wing pundits.

The other thing which mystifies me is why the same set of people who deny there's systemic bias in the justice system constantly advocate for outcomes that do nothing but demonstrate the justice system is biased and incapable of delivering actual, you know, justice. We saw it in the Chauvin trial, and we're seeing it again with Rittenhouse - hyperfocusing on the technicalities of the law as if that absolves them of basic principles like duty of care or not inciting violence.

But then again, it is explicable if one remembers the point of their politics is ensuring the law protects certain groups but binds others. It's less a dogwhistle and more a foghorn.
