it seems this guy has been killed or on the way to death.

While there are front page news articles blowing up over this and the Solar Wind hacking, I will reiterate on what it takes to go to war with nuclear weapons existing. Russia is a fascist state promoting terror on a global scale by now and has made several acts of war on the US and its allies.

He was moved to a penal colony a couple of hours ago... stop fear mongering and google instead.

Since we had a small discussion before about his not so nice tendencies (the far right ones) - there were news couple of days ago:
Amnesty strips Alexei Navalny of 'prisoner of conscience' status
Amnesty International has stripped the Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny of his "prisoner of conscience" status after it says it was "bombarded" with complaints highlighting xenophobic comments that he has made in the past and not renounced.

You know I dislike Russia very very much, but common, get a grip on reality. He was moved to some far away prison to be out of sight. They are not that retarded to kill Navalny now, it would just prove everything he said and make him a martyr. Much better to keep him imprisoned and cook up new cases to keep him there, where he cannot raise the stink much. Out of sight, out of mind.

What would happen if he goes to the west? You are afraid he won’t return to prison? I bet he will get better treatment in the west than Yavnikovich and Snowden are having in Russia... well... unless Russia tries to poison him, like they did with Skripal...

He already went to West on medical issue if you forgot, and signs were pretty unequivocal that he'd get convicted on return. He went back anyway, and lo-and-behold - he got convicted indeed.

Releasing him again for treatment (for n-th time), while funny, seems kind of pointless. There has to be some limit to the farce.

And Russia is quite capable of treating tuberculosis, thank you very much.

Convicted on bullshit charges. And I highly doubt he is sick with tuberculosis. He probably got poisoned again.

so if we ever hear in the headlines this guy dies, what kind of sanctions would we impose?

The farce like convicting him for leaving Russia after said Russia tried to poisoned him ?

What kind of sanctions do you suppose should be levied on UK if Assange would die (or go mad) in prison?

The farce of actually letting him skid all those regulations that expressly forbidden him from leaving the country due to ongoing lawsuits multiple times in the past, making all kinds of personal exceptions for him.

...and then the "retribution" is that they follow damn law one time.

Depends, did Assange kill himself? Did another inmate kill him? Or did the UK government kill him? If the UK government killed him, there might be something to worry about. Otherwise, Assange pretty much deserves the sentence he is going to get, especially since he was the guy that was pushing such bullshit that was given to him by your country's hacker group that stole the information that turned out to be a big nothingburger.

And for once, they did follow the law. How convenient .

Not his fault if Russia does not have proper medical facilities to handle a poisoning of their own doing with their own poison.

Well, here you're basically agreeing with "mainstream" Russian position on Navalny (complete with "pushing bullshit given by opposing country intelligence agencies").

Yep. Selective application of law is how corruption works.

"For my enemies, the law; for my friends, everything"; and, well, judging by their actions Navalny certainly was seen more of a friend then an enemy of a "regime" over the years.

Maybe it's the Democrats winning and the shades of Nuland-like color-revolution figures coming back with Biden that force break with niceties.

We obviously do have the facilities; trusting such facilities would be hard in such situation though.

Let's put something fresh in this - the ex-head doctor (left in October) of the hospital Navalny was in Russia right after the poisoning is missing after hunting in forest.

    https://www.bbc.com/russian/news-57050419
    (sorry, Russian BBC)

A reminder - 2 other doctors involved are dead, at ages of 55 and 63, respectively, as noted in the article.

Not the best era to be a doctor in Russia.
