Some lore analysis on the spatial rifts

So not speaking gameplay wise rather lore wise. I know that gameplay wise there could be a number of reasons why it's not possible but lorewise it is not really clear: Why don't Void Elf warlocks take their demon pets with them when they use their racial ability "Spatial Rift" to transport themselves a large distance away? What is holding them back from forcing their demons into the Spatial Rift and take that Void portal to their destination?

Nothing, it is merely for gameplay purposes. Lorewise the Void elves possess very advanced and powerful teleportation skills, as shown in the Battle of Lordaeron, when Alleria tore a rift into reality and teleported herself, her army, and the gnomish army (war machines included) to Lordaeron. So it's not like they can use it only on themselves. They can even throw people into one of their Void portals to reach the Void itself. This is shown for example in the Zuldazar war campaign, where Void elf forces can be summoned to throw vile goblin into the Void.

The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!

The void elf warlocks don't seem to use it for their demon pets though, why not? We know they could, but question is why don't they?

Why not throw their demon pet into the void portal as well? Instead of just porting themselves to their destination.

For purely gameplay reasons, as I told you. I don't believe any of the racial abilities affect pets. For example, I don't think pets are affected by the draenei self-heal, or the night elves Shadowmeld. So it's the same thing with Spatial Rift.

This is another case of gameplay > lore, in truth Void elves can easily teleport several people and even large military forces through their Void portals. Certainly one demon would be no hard feat.

So they can drop anyone they want into the Void portal to kill them? Could they do that to their demon pets as well? What's it like being tossed into the Void portal anyways? I would like to experience this.

Yes, as seen in the Alliance War campaign the Void elves are capable of throwing their enemies into the Void itself through Void portals. The pain of being thrown into the very jaws of the Void would be so severe that you would beg for a quick and merciful death. That's why you don't mess with the Ren'dorei. They can literally send you into the domain of the Void Lords.

I see. What about Void Elf warlocks, could they toss their demon pets into the portals if they wanted to, like to kill the disobedient pets?

Funnily enough, they are. The Void terrifies them. There was that one demon in the Alleria/Turalyon audio drama that went completely crazy when Alleria threatened him

They could toss an entire army of demons into the Void if they wanted to. Sargeras was afraid of the Void Lords and their powers for a reason. Now the Ren'dorei wield those powers.

It's not just Sargeras either. In one of the Argus zones, several demon NPCs mention how they are genuinely terrified of the Void, and believe that Sargeras will save them from their inevitable doom.

Apparently Void powers can give individuals the ability to nullify a demon's ability to resurrect when killed outside the Nether, so that's why the demon was terrified. Both Locus-Walker and Alleria have the ability to truly kill demons wherever they are.

Indeed. I think it has something to do with demon souls having to return to the Nether to reconstitute in a body and when their entire being is dragged into the Void their souls can't escape it either.
Makes you wonder what happens with mortal souls... probably the same.

I've always kind of felt that Light and Void power are somewhat defined by being incarnations or emanations of their defining essences; what with the Light being the essence of grand unity (one greater truth, all things intrinsically and fundamentally connected) whereas the Void is the essence of separation and isolation (with its thousand co-equal truths, having been created by literal "gaps" in the substance of the Light). The Light heals by emphasizing the reunion of separated things, be it flesh, emotion, or souls. It brings things that have been sundered back to their normal state. The Void harms by separation - tearing at the flesh, mind, or soul; driving a wedge between fundamental systems and causing them to break down. In the case of providing demons with true death using the model above, I'd wager that Locus-Walker and Alleria can use the Void to sever a demon from their fundamental link back to the Nether, basically attacking their nature as a demon directly, cutting them off from their plane of origin.

Where a demon goes after that happens is anyone's guess. Claimed by the Void, perhaps, as you posited. Or perhaps they are simply stranded on whatever plane they were on, unable to return to the Nether except via extraordinary means - like a sort of demonic ghost. Perhaps they even might drift into the Shadowlands like any other spirit presence, at least if left on the physical plane.

Why do you Void Elves despise Goblins so much?

They do not actually hate the goblin, they merely wish to free them from the yoke of a tyrant.

I knew that Gallywix was selfish and wasteful, but this... this is too much.

His bloated pride has blacked out the sun of good leadership. He hoards the wealth of his people to satiate his gluttony, greed, and lust while his people toil under his calloused heel.

And, maybe worse, opportunistic socialites from all across the Horde revel in the depravity.

All people of Azeroth deserve better than this. We must teach these spoiled cowards a lesson.
As you can see, Magister Umbric actually wants to punish Gallywix and his mooks for their avarice and greed, and genuinely believes that in doing so he will improve the conditions of the Horde people and set them on the path to redemption.

The mission was accomplished, as Gallywix was dethroned at the end of the Fourth War and replaced by Gazlowe, an actual honorable goblin who values his people.

it's just a gameplay spell reflecting capabilities of Void powers.
    that's it.

What is the point of this thread ?

I am a Goblin and I would like to serve the Void Elves in Telgrus Rift. Would they accept a Goblin? I wish to serve you, you are truly the masters.

Lorewise: Sure, why not, Telogrus Rift is a refuge for all those who wish to meddle with the Void. There are already some Sin'dorei scholars there, so former Horde members are welcomed to join.

Gameplay-wise: No, because Ion doesn't want to remove factions.
