What something new you’re learning to do right now?

Since we’re all stuck inside a lot. I personally like to learn something new.

What something you’re learning to do right now?

Right now I’m trying to learn Yoga. Lol. I’ve been meditating for years. But this yoga looks interesting but intimidating. Literally just started and I’m thinking of ordering this DDP Yoga for guys.

I'm learning how to dance salsa, foxtrot, and merengue. Never really danced before, but my girlfriend really likes it so she's teaching me. I like the idea of dancing, it just doesn't come very naturally to me. But it's still pretty fun.

Yeah I'm learning how to teach my children to read and do math the way their schoolteachers would be if we weren't in a fucking pandemic.

Also small electronics repair. First is to take apart a DSi and fix the shoulder buttons so I can school my son in mario kart (no shoulders means no drifting). If that goes well, going to replace the bottom screen in another DS lite. Then on to fixing the PS4s in my basement.

there is no special yoga for guys. there ARE different types of yoga, but none of them are gender specific, its just bullshit marketing to get insecure guys to do something that can improve their mobility without feeling like they are doing something "girly" all but one thing (no idea what he means by dynamic resistance in this context) in that infographic are basic yoga poses - clockwise starting with the top - chaturanga, 2 legged table top, warrior 2 - all in my standard practice along with a whole bunch of other stuff. still working up to more power yoga poses, but I'll get there eventually. I used to have this view that yin yoga IS all there is, but not really. there are all kinds of things for all levels of flexibility and strength and vinyasa is anything BUT static. renaming it yoga for guys and giving classic poses new names, doesn't change what it is at the core. but I guess if it gets more guys to try yoga.... sigh..

that said been mostly expanding on old skills though there is one new thing, sorta, that I'm trying. 3d printing. it IS for the purposes of expanding on current hobbies (miniatures), but I've never personaly had or used 3d printer before, so I guess that counts as new.

After tempering with Sketchup for a while, I now started learning Blender.

Immediate impressions? I miss sketchup intuitive and accessible toolkit

Learnins for nerds. I prefer knee jerk responses that don't make sense or say something that I saw or read on TicThotter or the Instabook to sound smart.

Well for me I have always wanted to learn Yoga but have been intimidated, and while I am in good shape I need a ramp to start off slow. Thanks for the information though. I like what I have seen because it seems to work for those just starting out.

the thing about yoga, for me at least is finding an instructor whose style you enjoy. beginner classes are also incredibly accessible and do not require exceptional flexibility or anything like that. vinyasa flow is my personal preference because its motion rather then static and it took me a while before my flows started to look and feel smoother, but its pretty personal. and I'm going to share an online class (I'm not actualy IN Arlington, she just does 2 classes a week over zoom) that I take sometimes and hope I don't regret it :P instructor is very sweet and her Wednesday classes are VERY beginner friendly and there are usually a few dudes taking it. https://www.meetup.com/Arlington-Yoga-Meetup-Group/

also, yoga with Adriene on youtube is a little too meditative for me (I just... can't meditate to save my life, so with most of her stuff it just moves too slowly for me), but might be enjoyable for you if you like meditation and she has a lot of beginner friendly videos.

Went back to a childhood hobby of mine, drawing apparently i am far better at it than i remember so with social life being torpedoed frequently due to corona why not.
Also learning to be more efficient with time by using the getting things done book.

As others have said, there's no real special yoga for men i would look into some courses that don't try to sell you yoga in that form of package as it seems dishonest and you probably won't get value for your money.

I've built and supported computer systems almost my whole life but never got into overclocking cpus, gpus, or ram. I finally went out of my way to build a system worth overclocking and I'm enjoying all of the tinkering involved in getting the most performance possible.

Thanks @Witchblade77 I am for sure going to check it out, I for sure expect to fall over, fart maybe embarrass myself at first, but I really do want to do it, but it looks intimidating and the one thing I do hate is when someone who is AWESOME at it telling me how easy it is.

That's why I said the DDP thing looked appealing for that purpose, because he comes across as more of a ramp, but I am going to check out your link, thanks again.
