    The McRib is back.

In case you missed it, the McRib came back today.

I had 2 for lunch. I can finally cross "Eating a McRib" off my bucket list.

I tried one once. It tasted more like high school cafeteria food than anything else I've had on their menu. I don't get the appeal.

They are not bad but nothing to go crazy over. I get some microwave bbq pork rib sandwiches from sams club sometimes to take for lunches at work. I would not go out of my way to get one at McDonald's. I like other stuff from McDonald's more.

From how hit or miss they are, I'd imagine they get them from the same places Sam's Club and other grocers get them... or maybe that was obvious and I'm just slow on the uptake.

I don't like McDonald's sauce that they put on it They aren't terrible. Worth getting at least one when they available. Inb4 people say it's reformed meat. We know. Not everyone has a problem with minced/ground meats

Like stated you can get similar rib patties all year in a freezer section but the difference is like cheap hotdogs vs good ones, the difference is definitely there (the McRib is the latter).

I wonder how they disposed of their food waste when there was no McRib.

It's the "only available for a limited time" bit. Eat one when it comes around, remember that it's mediocre at best, forget it's incredible mediocrity over time and hey, the mcrib's back!

I believe the limited time thing is due to only having it during times of the year when pork prices are lower. But meh fast food joints don't make their profits on the sandwiches or sides as they are sold to almost at cost. They're more for enticing you and getting you in the door and over salting the crap out of everything because the true profit maker at these places is the flavored sugar water.

It's basically a pork burger shaped to vaguely resemble ribs.

It is like 2 ingredients away from being a gym mat if they have the same ingredients as before, at least in Canada it is made from real meat haha.

In the US there are no stringent guidelines on food in many states, go look at the old list of what it is made out of, it was like a couple ingredients away from being inedible lol. In Canada grade A meat is the only thing allowed in restaurant and takeout food.

Food is actually highly regulated across state lines in the US.
