Who is the enemy of the Light? The Void.

Who did the Void Lords despise? The Jailer's puppet.

So the Void is against both the Light and the Jailer, which means that these two benefit from allying against the Void.

It's confirmed that the Jailer wanted the help of the Light to fight the Void Lords. Even he was afraid of the Void Lords, which does put into perspective just how dangerous, lethal, and powerful the Void is.

It is all coming together and the pieces are falling in place.
