Questions about changing covenant

Hi everyone. I am considering changing covenant, but have not been able to find much information about what will happen if I do so. From what I have read, the process of changing is very easy and straightforward, but I am interested in knowing what I will be losing by doing the change. I hope someone who knows can answer my questions..

1. What will happen to my renown? If I lose all the renown (level 6), can I get back to level 6 with the new covenant in the same week I did the change?
2. What will happen to all my Anima Reservoir? Will it all disappear?
3. What will happen to my companions, will they be reset to level 1?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but when I looked into it a few days ago it seems that all of your progress is tied to your current covenant. If you switch covenants, you are starting fresh, so you will need to get your Renown and Anima all over again for the new covenant. However, if you switch back to your old covenant, you resume where you left off on that covenant, before switching.
