In what possible universe is thatt justified?

and 20% nerf on Malefic Rapture... as always they dont know what they are doing with warlock
17.9% Nerf, probably be a slight nerf in terms of single target, but for mythic plus the overal nerf to rupture will be pretty noticeable
Soul Rot untouched, Tithe nerfed, the other two buffed. Blizz just doesn't seem to like Kyrian locks.
It will be very noticeable in single target settings, although Aff is a spec that will and is scaling very well with gear. My main takeaway from the 18% nerf is that next tier is likely to have many multi-target fights/spread cleave where Aff will be a very strong spec. Nathria is predominantly ST
looking at just logs and going...wooooah look at boomkings/locks....this tier some of the bosses just get easy padding.
Best way to look at warlock nerf is by looking at damage done to bosses.
The problem is..that singular ability is also our aoe....and this nerf hurts mostly mythic plus more than anything.
Unless you parse low now i wouldn't worry to much.
For raid we will be okay, but man, looking at the M+ numbers, this is gonna hurt.
For those curious some of those numbers https://www.icy-veins.com/forums/top...son-1-week-10/
That's incorrect, unfortunately bosses like council inflate the numbers as the adds are required to be killed. (Council). This and Sun King contribute a lot to boomies/aff (Using AC).
This is why to understand the rupture nerf, you switch the graph from Damage to All, to Damage to Bosses, and you see a better picture.
With that same approach Convoke damaging spells should be nerfed as well, however since that is a covenant ability, Blizz will not alter it. Rupture is a class skill...nerf.
I seriously hope they buff overall dot damage though.
What's more frustrating is the setup required for rupturing vs other classes burst window. (Some don't even have to cast, just sit there spamming instants)
>noooo wtf why is one of the top ranged DPS specs getting nerfed???
Until you realize the topic is about the covenant ability that's barely used compared to night fae while also requiring more work to use properly getting nerfed.
How so? Affliction is in an amazing spot for raiding sure, but that's just one spec.
And a malefic rapture nerf makes sense for single target, but this is just going to put locks in general even further back in M+ when they're not getting any help with big packs.
Meanwhile, classes that are already doing better in m+ aren't being touched.
Calling it childish is just a dismissive way to not even contribute to the discussion.

Arguing about the design of the nerf is one thing but pointing the fingers to other overperformers is just petty and childish.
They'll get their nerfs eventually, still doesn't change the fact that affliction deserves it too and that a nerf ist justified.
Same with the guys saying "class xy deserves it because they have been over/underperforming for xy years"... yeah how about we just focus on the present.
Except you're missing out on the part that warlocks were already targeted for tuning, yet all they got was nerfs and no help on the M+ end of things.
Which is more than easily accomplishable by just buffing Seed of Corruption alone. So irritation that locks were nerfed and other outliners were not is more than understandable.
