They keep crying until they get their mythic raid loot for world quests back. Shouldn't have given in. Raid loot was completely fine.
No it wasn't.
Raid loot has been objectively, numerically, much more scarce than in any of the recent expansions and it was very impactful. That's not an issue that affects mythic raids only, but also the more casual normal/heroic difficulties which most regular players are doing.
This is a great change. It's a bit late though, but hopefully it will make things feel better for people who are further in progression in their difficulty mode of choice. My guild is now on Sire so we are pretty close to be done with the raid. I guess gearing up in heroic bis will be easier at least.
Honestly, who didn't see this coming?
Better late than never, I suppose. Hope I can raid the next tier...
This now puts the drop rate of raid loot in line with failed Mythic keystones (20%).
37 + (3*7) + (3*7)W/L/T/Death count: Wolf: 0/1/0/1 | Mafia: 1/6/0/7 | TPR: 0/4/1/5SK: 0/1/0/1 | VT: 2/5/2/7 | Cult: 1/0/0/1
Now they have sorted out the raiders and mythic dungeons players hopefully they can do something for the other 90 percent of the wow population the part that actually matters.
You mean pvp? 90% of the population isnt pvping. Pvp is a better source for gearing along with the catch up system for gearing then dungeons and raiding rn. This system would have worked fine before M+ was created tbh. But when have other sources giving you more gear and ilvl, it defeats the purpose of gearing through raiding. You are basically just clearing bosses in raid for merit at this point.
Those people don't have a loot issue. If you don't do dungeons or raid (even LFR) you can get a ton of 197 gear via the covenant campaign. If you'e willing to PVP a bit, you can fill in the rest. If not, wait for the "do 4 mythics and get a heroic CN piece" weekly quest and similar things. Get enough 197 gear and WQs will drip 184 or above.
So, you're all fine.
Been saying this for a while.
1 drop per 5 (4 for 20) just makes so much more sense.
Good decision, especially on the weapon token front. We'll see how it shakes out in practice, but on paper 33% more loot is already a significant improvement.
