I mean...if Greenberg has the receipts it's gonna be extremely difficult for Gaetz. Testimony alone would be hard, but if he has physical evidence then Gaetz has an extremely uphill battle, especially considering everything he's been saying publicly because he's a stupid lawyer.

He doesn't have the Trump/Barr DoJ to protect him anymore, and Barr wouldn't even go near him he was so toxic. It's not a done deal for sure, and we should know more Monday, but the way things are trending I wouldn't want to be Matt Gaetz dry cleaner right now.

If they get a Trumpster that's a hung jury and he goes back to trial. We can keep this up for a while, and I think it would be increasingly challenging for McCarthy to leave him in Committees. He'll probably stay in the House (unless he resigns, which he probably won't), but he's gonna be an empty Rep. like Steve King was, with the guillotine still hanging over his head the whole time.

I mean, we've seen this play out before, with Cohen, with Manafort...

I'm willing to wager he doesn't get convicted.

Cohen went to prison, and his crimes were a fraction of what Gaetz were. He was also cooperating with the feds. Gaetz isn't. Manafort also went to prison, but he got a pardon. Gaetz doesn't have the benefit of a friend in the White House who is happy to pardon him. Hell, he's apparently even too toxic for Trump at this point.

Cohen rolled on Trump, and nothing happened to Trump.

    That's the point.

Because Trump was POTUS dude, you can't prosecute a sitting president. His testimony was used to impeach Trump (the first time), but he can't help that impeachment is a political process and not a legal one. What Gaetz is facing is a legal process, not a political one.

He's been out of office, and is still untouched.

I will believe it, when I see Gaetz behind bars. Up for a friendly wager?

Yes...and? They couldn't exactly have those cases prepped and ready to go the second he left office, the require subpoena's etc. and he's fighting them like hell. We have investigations ongoing that have spend up a bit since he left office, like the SDNY case, but like, it's not as simple as you seem to want it to be.

Sure, $50 to the charity of our choice? I'll donate to these folks if he doesn't go to jail - https://www.charitynavigator.org/ind...ary&orgid=3270

Gonna be a while, there aren't even charges yet.

Say, 18 months limit on the bet? Or, a year?

I think we'll be lucky if we even have a court date in 18 months, honestly. It'll be a standing bet we'll each have to remember. Who're you picking if he goes to jail?

I haven't decided on the charity

For the record, I don't think he will go, so if he goes to jail (conviction), you win.

Fair, I do recommend Charity Navigator if you're looking around.

And yep, if he gets convicted you donate $50 to your choice. If he gets acquitted I'll donate $50 to the American Kidney Fund.

I'm cool with that charity... having had kidney issues (and crippling debt as a result).

That's not what a "stimulus package" is. Or, I've been doing it wrong. Hey, are those sirens I hear?

I love that this just sounds more and more like a Carl Hiassen novel the longer it goes on.

I feel bad for Marjorie Taylor Green, touring around with him, clearly wanting some Vitamin-D but far too old for Gaetz's taste. Plus he is probably going to prison soon. What's even worse is if he just gave it to her it might help her chill out and stop screaming into AOC's mail slot like a lunatic.

For real though, Gaetz, Gaetz, You couldn't just fly out to Nevada or check a drivers license? Plus who just flashes nudes at work like that?

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. Bellingcat is an MI6/CIA cut out. Clyburn Truther.

That actually is a good and accurate description of it. Especially the stories of him showing nudes to fellow Congress people. I mean, I cannot think of many jobs where just wiping out your amateur porn would be a good idea. Especially if it has a minor in it. That is kind of frat boy shit though. I'd hate to be his lawyer right now and my heart goes out to that person, they have a tough and likely pointless job ahead of them.
