On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. Bellingcat is an MI6/CIA cut out. Clyburn Truther.
There are a few reasons I can think of that would lead a lawyer to voluntarily take the case of defending a sex-trafficking drug-using child-raping John when there's witness and physical evidence against them:
1) Doing it for the money
This is a gamble, because they will forever after be known as the lawyer who voluntarily defended a sex-trafficking bla bla bla rapist. Such a label could shift their clientelle permanently over to the truly filthy ocean floor of morality with money -- a niche job for sure. This could be the sort of thing a lawyer does shortly before moving to part-time or retirement: one last big score before their reputation no longer matters anyhow.
2) They think he's innocent...
This category includes the conspiracy theorists who believe the Commie Mutant Librul Deep State made Greenberg testify with vaccine microchips. I would like to believe most lawyers, due to their profession, don't fit this category, because they're more personally familiar with the real behind the scenes of law and law enforcement. (If it's an act, see next section)
3) ...or want people to believe that
Let's face it, the rabid fanbase is an easy mark. They've proven how stupid, gullible, stupid, intentionally ill-informed, stupid, and easy to market to they are. A lawyer could change their marketing strategy to "MAGA 2024, Trump won the election, here's my card, call me when you stick your dick in your lawn mower and want to sue because the warning label was written in Mexican". This is also a farcical act they can carry into the courtroom, seeking to defend their blatantly guilty and/or stupid clients by trying to convince the Trump supporters in the jury that Trump supporters must bend, break, or even bend over and fuck the law to protect each other because everything's rigged vote Trump.
4) They want the fame for successfully defending him
Every lawyer has their own aspirations, but some want to be Johnie Cochran, best known as using the Chewbacca Defense to free OJ Simpson. Cochran was a rarity, an American lawyer whose name everyone actually knew. While Cochran himself probably wasn't doing it for the fame, anyone growing up when the OJ Trial was on TV saw it all unfold and saw how famous Cochran became. And, in the age of YouTube and Twitter, being famous is a valuable commodity.
I believe Gaetz' lawyers are a mix of 1 and 3. Mukasey is an ally of Giuliani who appears to also be defending Trump's businesses in the ongoing criminal probe. Kirshner is actually a vocal Trump critic, but has defended high-profile sexual predators before, including Eric Schneiderman (a NY AG who resigned in disgrace). I think Kirshner took option #1 before and is now following throgh, and Mukasey might be doing the same, but it feels more like self-branding as #3 to me. With the results they have so far, I don't think either of them have any real delusions of a successful defense, nor are th.ey known as the lawyers who can keep anyone from jail, which rules out #4. Kirshner doesn't seem like #2, and I'll give Mukasey that benefit of the doubt rather than assume he's a fucking idiot. I mean, Trump's a pretty easy mark. You don't have to believe Trump is innocent to tell Trump you believe he's innocent. You just need him to sign the paycheck up front.
Now of course, I don't know these people and am only judging them by their proven words and actions. I'm pretty sure lawyers don't make a habit out of saying things like "well of course my client is guilty as sin, there are Venmo receipts for fuck's sake".
If he couldn’t find one, one would be provided by the state.
Also, why do we need to point out, that lawyers are doing it for the money? I don’t do my job out of the goodness of my heart... it’s a job... yeah, they are doing it for the money... it has to be, for the reputation hit this will be...

I can't recall the lawyer's name but there was one in Canada famous for taking on obviously guilty high profile cases. When asked how he could defend such people he said everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The professor in I think the course Canadian Criminal Law I had to take for my degree brought it up when we were talking about how much of a case is determined by a good lawyer vs the actual merits.
That’s actually what creates the pejorative view of lawyers. The better you are at your job, the more people think you are an asshole. Like OJ that was brought up... they are assholes for getting OJ off the hook, but how good were they at their job to get OJ off the hook?

High profile attorneys do this all the time. Interestingly, Dershowitz (now a semi-Trump supporter) was known for taking on very sensitive cases (terrorists, etc). It's not shocking at all that attorneys are seeking this case out. There is a great deal of money to be made for those willing to sell their souls. And with an almost certain guilty plea/conviction, there is nothing to lose (for the attorney) and everything to gain. And if the attorney wins...they are set for life.

No details yet, but sounds like Greenberg has the receipts on others. Gaetz is likely in there, but I wonder who else."Sixty of the 86 pages are what I call 'receipts,' hard corroboration of the crimes of not only Joel Greenberg but the crimes of others. Now those others are not yet identified and that's what I would expect because federal prosecutors don't want to tip their hand until they have indictments, arrest warrants and we're starting to see perp walks," Kirschner said.
Greenberg has now plead guilty to crimes including fraud.
If that wire fraud includes "I lied about how I was using Venmo to pay the child whores I raped" it makes sense what with all the receipts.
Greenberg folded after they showed him the child rapist wing of the State Florida Penitentiary System. That asshat is lucky that these are federal charges - whatever his plea deal includes, you can be certain it's jail time, and there are special facilities for child rapists so those people don't spend their incarceration getting...well, raped.
But who else indeed.
