    Cancelled Subscription refunds

    This is not a I quit wow thread please don’t turn it into one.

    So I’ve cancelled my subscription. Found myself just playing less and not really worth spending money on the sub if I’m not playing. However I did notice that my sub had just ticked over for the 6 month sub so I basically have 5 months left of the sub being open still.

    Does anybody know of blizzard will terminate the account and refund the remaining time if I contact them? I’m assuming not. Not a big deal I should have paid more attention to the subscription timings

    PSA: check your subscription renewal dates and keep them in mind and cancel early if you’re thinking about it so you don’t renew and end up in this type of situation.

    it would really depend. if you are only a couple days into it, they might be willing to refund it. anything beyond that is almost a guaranteed no.

    edit: i just remembered there was a time i refunded something and they said they refund one thing guaranteed but nothing beyond that. i doubt that's still in place though.

    This is one of the reasons I don't like being locked into a Sub. Which is why when I do sub to something, I cancel it soon after. I'm a paranoid person so Im afraid someones gonna get my card info if I leave it on my account, despite my accounts being safe. As for your question. I am not 100% sure.

    yeah thats more a customer service call than anything. Best option is to try to contact them and hope for the best but don't get your hopes up.

    if you do not play for 30 days in a row you can contact them and they will refund the month and any following months. you just need to make sure to not log on for 30 days.

    or if it is fast enough after your renewal and you have not logged in since, then you can ask for a refund too.

    Contact customer support and if this is your first time asking for a large refund you'll get it no problem. Third or fourth time they are going to tell you to eat it. But not the first time.

    no harm in asking. if it's only a few days in and you haven't played it during that time, then they might do it. but yeah probably not. on the bright side, 9.2 will definitely be out in the next month or so, so if they don't refund it you can at the very least check the patch out

    I don't even do that. I collect gold and after it expires I wait until I log on again to automatically sub with gold; I don't care about the perks/lures of long subs since those are only cosmetics and if they were p2w: it would be even more unethical.

    It doesn't help though that there is a suspicious "bug" that if your sub runs out it doesn't inform you that you can resub with gold until at least 10 minutes past after your first re-login and directs you to buy with money instead.

    Assuming you bought one of those transmog / mount 6 month resub option, thats kinda on you. It was pretty clear on the 6 month thing.. Also, that would get rid of whatever you got with the 6 month sub.

    Even on third or fourth time, if you don't log on at all for 30 days they will refund the sub entirely.

    If you're less than a week (rather like up to 3 days) past the renewal date you could and should be asking them on a phone call. Just remember to be POLITE to them. They're humans too.

    Chance of failure depends on YOUR attitude towards them.

    To answer a few questions: no it wasn’t a 6 month sub for mount have been on the 6 month sub for a long time. Have basically been subbed nonstop since cata really.

    Was asking here because I live in Australia and it’s a pain to phone US numbers with time zones and wanted opinions before doing so.

    Appreciate the advice and the chat will let you know how I go. Have a good one guys

    As long as you dont log in after submitting the ticket, Im sure they accept it.

    Ive regretted factionchanges/boosts/ subs and purchased waaaaay to many times, and always got help

    No need to call, when they have a ticket system. I've dealt with refund-related stuff with tickets, and it's worked just fine.

    Odds are they won't. If you are sure you are never coming back you can charge them back but otherwise the money is gone they changed the TOS recently to state they wont refund purchases like that anymore.

    The same happened to me almost to the day two years ago. I contacted them, they refunded the 6 months to my paypal within three days. So go ask them?

    always cancel your sub right after you pay
