    Monster Hunter Wilds

Hell yeah, after hearing about the Dragons Dogma 2 being the game that they would release next I wasn't expecting any news on the next generation of Monster Hunter until later next year.

Sadly it's a 2025 release, but I certainly like what I see from the trailer. Hopefully they go the World route (which it looks like they do) rather than Rise. Focusing on immersion and ecology rather than a boss rush mode.
Announced for Steam, Xbox and PS5 which makes me think there might coming to the platforms at the same time rather than 1 year after, like Worlds did, maybe I hope too much though.

Seeing flock animals, a mount and very open looking areas makes it seem like they are focusing on expanding the areas more. World did this great, but it was still very confined. Curious what they will introduce and rework in the next generation. Hopefully they do something with traps, I like capturing monsters ofc, but it never felt great just placing a trap under them and then tranquilize them. Always imagined you might have to place traps beforehand and then maybe lure a monster down a path when it's hurt (maybe with bait and such) or learning about their nests and place traps there...etc etc.

Then again that might make it a bit too convoluted... anyway. Hyped as fuck.
Gonna spend 2024 with replaying Iceborn with the Ice mod that rework some stuff.

    Did Ubisoft buy the IP?

I swear there's a new game every other year.

    Neutral on the reveal

On one hand, yay new MH!
On the other hand, cinematic trailers with no gameplay stink.

Hopefully we get a new weapon this generation since Frontier shutdown.

I was big into the series during the portable era, from PSP to NDS. I'm loving this announcement, and I think it's a good timeframe for release. Hopefully I can afford the time to play it.

Too many Monster Hunter games for me. I need time between these.

3+ years between games isn't enough? By the time this releases Sunbreak will be 3 years old.

    This... seems almost baity honestly?
Every game especially recently has added some new twist, like world had the tools along with the first interconnected map, rise had the wirebug and the mount, along with riding monsters.

But then to top it off, literally the only thing this trailer showed is higher mob density and that the mount can glide now, and you're calling that innovative?

I have no idea why i said that...sorry.
For some reason i saw big open world and landscape and then saw some insane herds...and thought it was innovative for some reason.

Maybe it's just the trailer but I am not seeing a huge jump in graphics
"The customer is always right" is a nice way of saying "I will put up with your bullshit as long as you pay me"

World/rise both looked great so is one really needed?
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.

Oh. Well I mean, that's a fair joke considering how many games did just try to tack on an open world to innovate.

From World? Maybe not so much. From Rise? Definitely.

So like CoD or any given Ubisoft game.

Ubisoft games got the reputation for that for yearly releases, that's hardly the same thing.
