Re: Trying this new spec in 3.1.0, suggestions please.
It's a pure PvE spec, and intellect is for a higher mana pool (O'rly) and illumination is for mana regeneration when you crit with the instant FoLs etc that you might need to throw out while doing instances.
Re: Trying this new spec in 3.1.0, suggestions please.
I haven't played ret in a long time, will be my second spec in 3.1, but I really do not see the point in the holy points.
I do not think that the point about mana pool is a valid one, I have not heard the ret pallies in our guild complain and I would not have thought it would be a problem at all in a raid environment.
Re: Trying this new spec in 3.1.0, suggestions please.
reduced pushback for casting heals for pve? pretty much worthless for ret.
5/5 in divine intellect will get you a tiny bit more than 1 crusader strike, not worth 5 points.
You shouldn't need illumination at all as ret.
Imo put 2/2 in PoJ because it's amazing, and since you were bringing up heroics, vindication will make the trash 20% faster...
There are alot of extra points for ret now, but I really think there are better places to put them then where you decided to.
Due to the increasingly large amount of raid damage in Ulduar, plus our inherent self-damaging traits from SoB/SoM, the point of this build is the survivability 2/2 Divine Guardian grants. You'll basically be keeping 100% uptime on Sacred Shield, thus helping you stay alive. A dead DPS does 0 DPS.
