Back in WoD times LYN made an ui that looked amazing! And i did a edit of it to fit my needs! Now i've tried to recreate it in ELV UI + WAs and i feel it turned out allmost as good as it was back then!

oh, this is so nice. i've been using pretty much all UIs Lyn has ever released...and still have them stored somewhere too

Hehe, it was the one before the one you have on wowinterface currently :P mine was a heavy edit tho! But you deleted your dropbox links so cant see or link an example tho :P

All this LynUI talk got me inspired to try to recreate one of my favourites from 2016 in ElvUI.
It's not done yet, and some parts can't be recreated completely in ElvUI, but it's pretty close

Everyone seems to think only minimal and "clean" (whatever that means) UIs are the way to go. I present to you my UI, the very antithesis of minimal...

I agree with this. It’s very easy to make a “minimalistic” UI if you don’t have any information on screen other than your class/spec abilities. But it’s just not very functional. A good UI is about putting the right information in the right places. I have never understood why people would put abilities like e.g. cobra shot in their UI.. why would you need to have cobra shot showing on your screen? It’s just clutter.

bolded part is what a minimalistic UI is. Its not about how few things you show, its about having the right things shown.

This specific is minimalistic in terms of he doesnt have more than what he needs. Now if he added a bar with random toys and mounts he clicks once a month, or maybe have a FAR to big dmg meter, now then its not really minimalistic.

Also this horse has been beaten to death 100s of times in this thread so lets just leave it at that.

yeah these are nice. good thing about weakaura is they are probably easier to maintain than the ones i had.
maybe, if i get around to do another concept we could make it together as WA or so, I dunno.

My current UI. I just wanted a cinematic and action style feel to my UI and overall game experience. Took a looooooong time to get it to look and feel like I want and I'm still making slight adjustments here and there on a daily basis. Thanks to addons like ElvUI, DynamicCam and King Kong Frame Fader, my UI changes a lot based on a multitude of situations from World, combat, resting in cities, dungeons and raids. It's honestly made the game look and feel so much different, revitalizing my love for the world and game itself.
