If u have Win XP, can try do this steps (they helped for a lot people in Russia with slow internet or/and far from servers):

1. In Regestry add DWORD parameter to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{NIC with your IP address}
TcpAckFrequency = 1

2. In Regestry add DWORD parameter to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters]
TCPNoDelay = 1

That registry fix does have marginal increases in performance for Windows 7 as well. However, unless you're 100% comfortable modifying your registry, I would suggest using this "mod" instead. It makes the same changes to your registry with no chance of a mistake being made. The VB Script has been checked by many people who know the language well and has been proven safe. I also used it myself.

The Destination unreachable error comes from security measures. It has no effect on your in game latency.

What router do you have?

What you can try is, go to your router and manually change the MTU. It should be on 1500 by default, try changing it to 1400.
