Download GIMP. It's photoshop for free (well, probably lacks a feature or two that photoshop has, but there's still a lot you can do with GIMP.)

Oh, really? I've heard of GIMP but I only thought it was a substitute for Paint, with similar functions. Shows how much I know.. I'll download this asap.

Alright, so after spending an hour or two messing around in GIMP, I made a custom background

I'm just going to link it because its large and Imgur doesn't want to upload it. My background, and my screensaver is actually a slideshow collection of wallpapers from various games (Portal, Deus Ex HR, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc) but this is the only one I made.

I love the "M", "S", the first "F" and the "T" parts, the letters, pretty good wallpaper, the background is also very decent, although the quality of it seems rather meh but it's still good. Good job!

Having high res pictures as wallpapers does slap the PC's performance, though! But the real reason it's pitch black right now is because I re-organized some pictures and the software I use (Ultramon) to have different pictures on the monitors didn't like that the pictures I used had new locations, and I couldn't be bothered to fix it. When I do use wallpapers, they don't last very long until I feel the need to change. D:

I see on alot of peoples desktops they have some funky looking programs that tell you all your cpu details/clock time date/ hdd space etc etc etc, prob not the right forum to ask this but can anyone tell me names of some good ones for windows 7?
