malygos was weakened and mad and he wanted to kill all arcanists in the world besides a few who decided to side with him not to die... not to mention that the way he was draining arcane from all the ley lines and concentrating it in a single place it could rip the fabric of reality and destroy azeroth, so there was more than just "the lich king can wait"... he was like algalon... weaker than the lich king, but more urgent... Well the fact that Malygos wasn't anything like what he should look like, and was far, far too weak means that I don't count him as dead.
