People who werent at blizzcon complained that the Roar was terrible. But the simple fact was, that the video didn't pick up the sound properly, this making it sound like a squeel. It was a deep, metallic roar. Which was 1000% better than Sindragosas.

I actually waited 13 minutes in my Beta Login screen for a Roar.. Boy was I wrong.
I knew the original roar was crackled through the offscreen camera.
They didn't have to remove it, I guess.

Not everyone wants their computer screaming at them every time they log into WoW. I prefer to play with my sound on and I've had enough of dragons screeching at me every 15 seconds.

Plus, it could be that the screech is a rare occurrence. I'm sure it still exists. I wouldn't mind the screaming dragons if it happened infrequently.

I can't say that I typically spend enough time on the login screen to care either way. Of course the Blizzcon roar is far more epic, but regardless, it's a login screen. I'd rather not be soured about such an insignificant part of the game.

Is it really that big of a deal that it requires it's own thread? And think, would you be any better than those that complained on the Blizzard forums by complaining about the change they made? Would you still bitch about them "catering to whiners" if a mass of people went and complained until the roar was reapplied? It's the log in screen. Typically, people don't sit there for hours on end watching that particular screen. They would rather enter their account information and get right to the game. It really isn't that big of a deal, so there's no sense in trying to make it one.
