I recently got >852 haste in pvp gear. However it seems that i don't gain an extra immo tick.I conflag a dummy and see the same conflag damage with 897 haste(new belt) and 797 haste(old belt).Passing the 852 mark doesn't give me dat extra tick.
Bug?

I think the guides that give haste values for new ticks all assume 5% Haste buff.
you sure?if that's true, how much haste you need for the extra immotick without the 5%haste buff?
I'd assume you need 5% more.
5% Haste = 164 Haste Rating I believe
For the 7th tick without raid buffs you are gonna need:
6,5/5 = 1,30 = 30% Haste..
30*32,79 = 983,7 = 984 Haste rating..
984 - 852 = 132 extra haste rating
That 984 number to get 2 extra ticks is not what is mentioned in the "4.01 Haste info" thread on the first page. Could be that i misunderstood the first post in that thread, but i was testing haste and immo ticks earlier today and i think i saw 2 extra ticks while i had around 875 haste. I will check to see how much haste i really got and make sure that i do indeed get the 2 extra ticks. One weird thing i noticed was that recount didn't pick up on 1 tick. When i counted them manually i really did see 7 ticks (tested it on lvl60 dummy).

He is correct, the 4.0.1 raiding guide is a raiding guide- the 5% spell haste buff is assumed to be there. For anyone who doesn't have the 5% haste buff the math above (By Joetrue) is correct.
Misunderstood you since english isnt my first launguage :/
But the forumla is indeed correct, and yours is aswell.
Your formula: 1415/32,79 = 43,1534 which is indeed my haste
My (EJ) formula is for calculating raid haste:
((1+1415/3279) = 1,4315 = 43,15 % increase
Now i add the haste buff from shaman/priest
((1+1415/3279)*1,05 = 1,5031 = 50,31 % increase
Now try and add the raid buff for your haste formula?
Haste no Buff
Haste % = Haste Points / 3279
Ticks = DoT Duration / Tick Rate / ( 1 + Haste % )
Ticks - Calc - GCD - Value - Haste - Pts.
6 - 5.51 - 1.36 - 10.25% - Base - 336
7 - 6.50 - 1.15 - 30.07% - Base - 986
8 - 7.50 - 1.00 - 50.02% - Base - 1,640
Haste with Buff
Haste % = Haste Points / 3279
Ticks = DoT Duration / Tick Rate / 1.05 / ( 1 + Haste % )
Ticks - Calc - GCD - Value - Haste - Pts.
6 - 5.50 - 1.36 - 10.09% - Base+5% - 159
7 - 6.50 - 1.15 - 30.01% - Base+5% - 781
8 - 7.50 - 1.00 - 50.02% - Base+5% - 1,406

i got 6 ticks with 691 haste, i cast SF for 15% haste and i get 7th tick.
I assume that at 1407 you get 8th tick and maybe then with ISF [maybe i dunno] you may get 9th
---------- Post added 2010-11-01 at 09:48 AM ----------
Is this WITHOUT 15% haste from ISF ? because if yes then he could have even less haste rating with 15% from isf and 5% buff if thatw as the case
Its without ISF, BL and Power infusion or other simillar buffs..
Yeah, that is where i went wrong too with my 7 ticks and 875ish haste. I propably had ISF up or something and wasn't paying attention. But it's all cleared up now so thanks
But this brings me to maybe an off-topic question. Why doesn't your haste improve with 15% in the character window when ISF is up ? Since it didn't change i was almost thinking it was a cast reduction ala Backdraft. Has anyone else noticed this ?
