But why would the Colts want to pay 28 million to activate his contract for another 4 years? He's 35 and had all those neck and back nerve injuries and no one is sure if he can even play like he used to. I wouldn't sign him if I was the owner. On the other hand he IS the Colts franchise and a beloved hero in Indy.
It would be a shame if they can't bring him back with some kind of hybrid qb/oc/qb coach/management job. Have him start at qb and immeaditely start developing a new qb rookie of the future. Everyone could win if they have any brains. It would be nice to see him go out with class and not another Favre retirement fiasco.
