Engineering as raid proffession

Hola Amigos. Just dinged 85 on my rogue now. So ive finnaly got time to do other things again than leveling.
I have engineering and JC at 450.

I do not have any alts with mining atm and i do not wanna level up another one to use him only as a miner.
So i was in on the idea to drop Engi on the rogue to get mining on him insted.
Would that be a mistake ?

If you perhaps could help me find the Pro's and the con's for having engi as a raid rogue Or in general.
That would be awesome.

Hmm I personally wouldn't drop a non gatheting skill such as Engi for Mining. Perhaps on an alt, yes, but not on a main raiding character.

I've read that Leatherworking is the best for us Rogues in Cata, so you might want to think about switching to that.

Jc and LW then. That could work. Easier to skin on my hunter which got skinning and decent gear i guess then mining on a naked druid without any knowledge of druids or mining skill
