I'm not even talking about price/performance. Just performance, Alienware doesn't make the most powerful laptops. That combined with the fact I personally dislike the look and have disliked Dell for who knows how long, as well as Alienware before Dell bought them, drove me to Sager.

This is why I have everything shipped to the office. Purolator, UPS and Fedex are one street up from the building. I get shipments by 10am.

    Yeah, that's right.
Regarding the pure performance, Origin and Falcon Northwest are - at least - two of the top gaming laptop manufacturers; Sager seems to be really, really great, too.
i7 990X s must be damn sweet in a notebook
Unfortunately, their products hardly are available here in Austria...Sager and Origin ship to us, but hell, the import tax kicks ass.

I think "kicks your ass" is the line you are looking for. xD

Would you even be able to finish saying "Man this is fucking awesome" before the laptop's battery died?

    Oh. Sweet. Mother. Of. God.

    Sager ships to Norway.

Origin and Falcon use Sager, but they modify the chassis alot more than other resellers, and cost more.
Also mine is only a 980X, 990X wasn't released at the time. Also if I had one and better GPUs, i'd need two PSUs, one is a brick as it is.

You know there are Clevo retailers in Europe?

    Clevo? *curious*

Clevo is the company that actually makes the laptops. And you typically see them sold under that name in Europe, not Sager.

As an example from xoticpc.com, where mine came from:
    SAGER NP7280
    Built on Clevo X7200

EDIT: Little out of date, but:

    Didn't know that. :O

See, I'm trying to see if I can get a somewhat cheap'ish laptop (like... not Dell/Alienware/Apple) with a decent SSD. I always struggled to use my old laptop's 120GB, so hopefully I can handle a 120GB SSD. :U

Why not get a laptop with a normal platter drive that's large, buy an SSD and 2.5" enclosure separate, stick in the SSD and use the platter drive as an external? :3

My rig is no longer bleeding edge or even close, but it still gets 60 FPS in most newer games:

http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-5936841..._2166_63662701 - Case, I don't have a picture of mine anymore. Mine is a blue one though ^_^.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0 GHz (Not Overclocked)
    RAM: 6 GB DDR2 RAM (G-Skill)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT w/ 2GB VRAM (DirectX 10 Card )
No clue what HDD's I have in there atm, just 2 256GB ones

1st monitor is a CMC 17" LCD (Old, I know) running at the low resolution of 1280 x 1024!
2nd monitor is an even older Dell E151FPp running at an even lower resolution of 1024 x 768 (It was free, so meh!)

You can easily remove the HDD and not void your warranty? >>

Yep. Though I would personally remove it and keep it stored somewhere, makes it easy for warranties, just throw the original back in.

It's mostly for classes @ college, but we being gamer geeks I look for something small. For full on gaming I'll stick with stationary after all, but some minecrafting during break would be nice.

Will the AMD A50M + HD 6470M with some 4GB of generic RAM do the job if I toss in a Corsair with 60GB? :P

MSI threatens the same thing if you puncture the stickers covering the screw holes. I laugh in their general direction
