One day, I'll be posting in this thread, as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel ^-^
Since it is a post your gaming setup thread and you posted this... add the fact that I got some good news today I'll share my gaming setup!

The good news is that I can go get my new PC tomorrow (I had it for 2 days but the PSU was fucked... really fucked - the wires inside were not isolated and it looked worse than the thunderstorm outisde so I had to send it to warranty and I couldn't play even for 1 second on it).

I present to you my gaming set-up that served me for 5 years and a bit...
    Core 2 duo e4400 - 2GHz not overclocked! - WICKED !
Asus EN9500GT top - 512 sheer power MB - got it from warranty after the original one fried - FOR FREE!
2x1GB Kingston ValueRam - 800 MHz - Double RAM? DOUBLE AWESOME!
Asus P5L-MX Motherboard - ALMOST MORE EXPENSIVE THEN MY NEW ONE!
    G-ALANTIC ATX-450P2SC 450W - Bought a new one after I fried the original!
    Some shitty 120GB HDD!
    Matchbox starring as SSD!
    Doesn't even have a name - CASE!

    Now for some pictures:

The sad part is that I'm not even kidding, don't take it as trolling or something. The PSU and GPU failed withing months so I had these ones for at least 5 full years.
I actually built it myself and I loved that PC. I still love it and I don't think I'll get rid of it, maybe use it as a trophy. It was there for me when I almost killed it with games it shouldn't even run and it never failed me once. I'd go to the extent of saying that it was a better friend than a dog.

The point was, don't lose hope, brighter days will come for everyone \o/.(I'll have to eat noodles for 2 years now but it was worth it!)

I went for colour accuracy myself and sided with 2560x1440 resolution.
I just don't know any better.. the colours on this schreen are already far better than anything i had before..

You're making me curious and wanting to try one of those IPS panels though :X

Don't you find tv's hard on the eyes? I got a 32" sharp, tried to use as a monitor and felt like my eyes were burning after a couple days.

Ive been using my sharp as my display for 4 years now and I don't really have any problems with it, I'm aprox 6' away on the couch and everything is clear. The 42" LG was just a bonus that my friend won at a golf tournament and brought to my place! Its my 'media' display that plays movies/tv n such while I game on the Sharp

yes, just a basic MB RAID5 for a bit of performance boost with a bit of redundancy in case one of the seagates decides to take a dump, i have 3 extra for backup

the build quality is outstanding, it only has two note worthy problems:

wiretucking is near impossible without making custom single braid lines
it's a very tight case to work with, there is not a lot of room for much, (i actually like this, it seems more computerish, rather than a giant case with a MB inside)

/drool. That beast must have enough power to be optimus primes little brother.

Doesn't it get very hot? your case doesn't seem to be the most open of all, or does your fans just keep going at top speeds?

And even at high speeds, the fans are probably virtually silent.
