    Macgyvered some SSD's this weekend.

I was too lazy to remove the motherboard in order to screw the SSD's in the back of the case, so I just zip-tied them :P

There's no better way to mount SSDs!

    Welcome to the club! ;D

Though when I got the R4 I did screw in my one SSD, however if I get another, idk if I'll go the extra mile or just do what you did. :P

I concur, both of my SSDs are attached with Velcro after I removed both drive cages for better airflow.

Wow, Gorehowl... that looks really good. Like really good. Very clean loop. Cables, well, they are not plugged in, so I look forward to seeing how you approach them, but damn, nice job!!!

Currently sleeving all the cables, gotta wait to finish though, nearly cut my fingers off with a drywall knife at work last week, so no sleeving for me till it heals a bit lol.

hot damm , i'd already be glad if i can make my first custom loop look half as good as the last three watercooled builds here.

  9. #11449
Sure you can shroudster. Just dont throw everything together right away. Plan your loop properly and take your time perfecting it.

the general performance idea is fine , i just can't decide on looks yet.
but i'll cross that bridge once i get my waterblocks for the gpu. (i'm likely going black waterblocks, nickel fittings, clear tubing and yellow coolant )

I'm with Cyanotical. I had a custom water loop for about a year, and while it was a fun experience I opted to go back to air cooling when I upgraded. Water loops are too inconvenient in transport and the minimal performance gains are not enough to justify spending all that money.

I could see yellow coolant working. Also, this!

That RAM would look awesome on your motherboard.

    Make it happen!

So I got my computer rebuilt into a new case. Got my hands on a Silverstone GD07B case and to be quite honest, I am going to have a love hate relationship with it. I love the fact that it's E-ATX form factor capable (only put a standard ATX board in), but I also love the fact that it's got a large quantity of fan bays. 5x120mm fans, 3 of which are included so I just dropped in 2 of my own Xigmatek fans, plus it has dust filters on the fan ports. It also has 2x80mm fans in the back. My biggest complaint is that unlike most other cases these days, it doesn't have tool-less entry, you need a screw driver to take off the top panel. Installing my components was a challenge, it seems if you opt to have 4 5.25 inch drives, you have to remove one of the 120mm fans in the bottom of the case.

I'm more concerned about the cable management there. It looks a bit like a mess. :P

Stayed true to the colorscheme, even with the Zotac. Too bad there's no window to appreciate the build.
